@@muzzammilsuleiman7118 we don’t say it’s a virtuous act we just do it because we love the prophet and want to do it, we don’t care about rewards. Anyone who says that we’re not allowed to have a day dedicated to our beloved prophet I bet would have a huge wedding celebrating their own marriage, a graduation party, a bbq for a new house…but when it’s celebrating the birth of one of the most loved by Allah suddenly a line is drawn. Stop being stingy with joy.

This is ignorance at its peak. The mawlid you celebrate is supoosed to be an act of worship. You claim that you do it because you love the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. The principle about acts of worship is they're forbidden except you find a proof for it. For example, a person can't pray subhi four rakaats because "there's no proof against it in the Qur'an". So also, you can't start an act of worship like mawlid without proof. The onus lies on you to provide proof for this. If you can't then repent and stop practicing it. As for the mats and rugs, they're mundane acts. Is there anyone whoever claimed that praying in such beautiful mosques brings one closer to Allah? So, they're not acts of worship. And the principle about mundane acts is they're permissible until a proof cancels them. Please repent and stop misleading people with your ignorance and stubbornness.
