These Q & A’s with you & Matt are so fun,Tipper! It’s like we get to learn new things about our distant, but much loved relatives! Matt is such a hoot and I love his sense of humor. So many of the humorous things he says, reminds me of my precious daddy. My daddy has gone on to be with Jesus now, but he had the most wonderful, fun-loving personality & he kept his endearing sense of humor until his death…even during his last couple of years, when I know he was suffering…daddy still found a reason to laugh, & to bring laughter to his wife, four daughters, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. My daddy was a good ole’, hard working country boy & he was all about God, his family, his garden, fishing, hunting & all things outdoors. He was a wonderful provider & a wonderful father. Basically, he was an older, balder version of your Matt. Lol. They just don’t make men like them anymore! Thanks for another great video. Mama & I sure enjoyed it. God bless you all.🙏🏻💕

Tipper you were thanking the viewers for watching, but we should all be thanking you and your family. Y'all are so centered and real and genuine. Watching your channel is so calming and reassuring because of the love and closeness y'all have and most of all your faith. If people who are out there searching for peace and joy and love would start to watch y'all, it would change them. It might make them slow down and appreciate the life and blessings they have. I feel like y'all are family.

You have blessed me too. I started watching Celebrating Appalachia in 2020. I saw your channel on my suggested channels and the title appealed to me immediately because I am also, as you say Tipper, "plum foolish" about Appalachian culture. I am such a fan of your channel, as well as the girls' channel. God bless you all and keep up the great work! You make Appalachia proud! 😀❤

See I did a DNA test and I knew my family was from Eastern Kentucky, but until I watched your channel, I didn't know why we ate soupy pinto beans and cornbread, or why my Dad crumbled his cornbread and put his soup beans on top. I randomly came across your channel a while back and was immediately drawn to the title. My father was from Tennessee and I was very close to his mother until her death at 93. They've both been gone for a decades now and I miss their language, cooking and stories. So, nostalgia made me click on your video and I've been hooked ever since. I've ordered the cookbook for myself and my son. It's a link to my father, who passed long before my children were born.

I really appreciate you all’s family. It is comforting to me. I am absolutely sure most of the reason you all have such a close family is you are close to God. And you have passed it along to your daughters. I truly loved Corie’s recent tribute to Miss Cindy and how she shared her faith. That goes back to the closeness of your family ties and your Faith. Matt and Tipper it is clear that you love each other and your family and even friends. Your love is clearly visible.

Dear Tipper and Matt, we enjoy watching you so much, I think your the nicest thing on tv and it’s a learning experience. A couple of things, my husband grew up with a 22 magnum and he would like to know what kind of Rifle Matt uses in 22 Magnum. So I like to make Blueberry pie (my Bible study loves it) I have used The Wild Maine Blueberry pie recipe in Yankee Magazine. The pie crust is all butter and the thing is a food processor, frozen butter, ice water, AP flour, salt and a little sugar. Blend the butter into the dry, pour into the feed tube the ice water slowly until it clumps and stop immediately. Take out and make 2 discs and refrigerate for 1/2 hour. Roll out on a floured board. This is perfect Tipper and the better thing is Irish grass fed butter. You can taste the difference. Fresh blueberries, 3 Tbsp minute tapioca, sugar and butter. 2 1/2 C Flour 1 C butter cubed and frozen 1 Tbsp sugar 1 tsp Salt 6-8 tablespoons ice cold water Add flour, sugar and salt to a food processor and mix it. Add butter and mix it until it looks like corn meal. While running dribble in water just until it clumps, stop immediately. Take out and make two discs and wrap in plastic a refrigerate at least 1/2 hour or over night. Roll on a flour dusted board. This is for a 9 inch pie plate. Filling 5 C blueberries and frozen is fine but don’t thaw. 2/3 C sugar 1 Tbsp lemon juice 3 Tbsp minute tapioca 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 pinch nutmeg 5-6 pats of butter Add blueberry mixture to pie shell and top with butter. Top with top crust and flute the edge. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with a little sugar, bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or longer. How hot does your oven run? If you get really hot and berry juice is bubbling I’d say you’re done. Just keep an eye on it. This crust is a winner and is so light and flakey, just lovely and I get a lot of requests for this pie. I give it to you with all my love. I enjoy your writing to much and love getting to sit and visit with you and your family, it is such a pleasure to see your garden, watch you cook, see Granny and what’s she doing. Tell everyone I said Hi and god bless you all. Can’t wait until I get your cook book, wish I could have it signed. Your friend, Jennifer Gearhart

Growing up in Charlotte, I took drivers ed in summer school. We learned to drive a stick shift on a Volkswagen Beetle. The teacher was a football coach and he made us drive on Independence Blvd and I-85 which was scary for a new driver.

We love the car talk. My husband and I have a 76 ford highboy. We love ‘Sweetums’ - she’s our wood truck & she does alright for evening drives to catch the sunset. Alaska & montana are beautiful- but so is your backyard 😉♥️ we loved living in Montana and it is worth a trip - especially then west side if you’re looking for the alpine beauty. Love hearing you mention of your tight ties to your home! Enjoyed the memories from your childhoods. We hear Matt in the 22. It’s a mountain staple. Wonder what is your favorite firearm (just one you’d like to have)? What do you prefer to bow hunt? Loved the advice to boys. We live backed up to the forest & we have a creek running through our 10 acres - my son sleeps out in a teepee tent almost every night of the summer. It’s so true that the outside time is just good for kids & especially boys. ♥️ Grateful for your wholesome content and gracious attitudes towards the success of your channel.

I'm almost ashamed to say we had our oldest driving the feed truck as a toddler back in the early 80's while his dad fed hay off the trailer in the back. Cliff would jump off when he had to get turned around, turn the steering wheel, and get Rhian set up to drive back. By the age of 10 he was driving a tractor with a pipe trailer behind! Rhian ended up a John Deere mechanic and is service manager now. I look back and wonder how our boys survived. But all three of them can do just about anything around the house, yard, vehicles, hunting etc...pretty self-sufficient. I, on the other hand, waited till I absolutely had to get my license (18).

When I was little my Ninnie (my mothers mom) lived on a big hill and when we were in the back yard playing, she would tell us not to go past the clothes line because if we went over the hill the "hippies" would get us. I didn't know what a Hippie was but I didn't want them to get me.
