I am so sad and sorry to hear of Michaela's passing! I myself had a sudden, severe, life-threatening asthma attack, without having ever been diagnosed with asthma...It was the most terrifying experience of my life and I remain shocked that i survived that experience, and traumatized by it. I am so so so sorry that she did not. She has been a profound inspiration to me in my life, I am deeply grateful to her, to her talent, and to the love of her family who gave her so much to support the innate talent she possessed, as well as her own extreme work ethic that she deployed to become the world famous ballerina, able to overcome the disgusting racist culture of the classical ballet world...to her use of her natural talent and work ethic, combined with her unwavering self determination, belief in her capacity to change the world by forcing her way onto the ballet world stage, and succeeding beyond even her own wildest imagination. She deserved to stay, more than I did. I wish she were still here.

No one has reported it was asthma. The family is reporting Michaela had an undiagnosed heart condition. Her mother was undergoing a prep (on the 14th) for a surgery on the 15th and passed away from complications. The family did not tell her of her daughter's passing most likely due to timing & the situation. So sad. Some ppl are screaming conspiracy but undiagnosed heart conditions are actually high amongst professional athletes and that is most certainly what she was as well as an artist. To work your body like that every day is that of a professional athlete to the highest of standards. Sadly, that is how an abnormality is usually found - upon unconsciousness or death. It happened to an athlete I knew who played in college and collapsed on the field. Never a health problem. Sometimes these things happen. Her mother had lost 2 or 3 children years earlier and you have to wonder if this would have broken her heart, so God simply spared her and took both of them to Heaven together. He took a husband and wife in our church together, only 3 min. apart. Their daughter said they would never have been able to live without the other so God knew what was best. She would know. Sometimes it simply happens that way.

Definitely gone too soon. Not only a beautiful talent but a beautiful woman with such an amazing smile! So saddened at all the beautiful art we will miss and what Michaela would have performed for us. What an amazing talent! Grateful to have seen some of her interviews and televised performances!
