Hi Gordy. Thanks for the nice comment. Glad you enjoyed the Katakolon video. It took about 10 mins to walk into the village. You can't miss it its a fairly isolated cruise Quay. Glad you're enjoying the content. Check out the whole itinerary and ship tours below from our channel. Best of all, it's Free to subscribe and would really help the channel. Regards. Great video of Katakolon. I go there every year as I have friends at the Koursaros cafe along the quayside. It's a beautiful place in a beautiful area of Greece.

Thanks for your comments. We really loved that whole quayside and the restaurants along it. Just made the whole port look really chic.

@@RaySuesTravelChannel Yes, it's a very pretty place. I stumbled upon Katakolon when I was travelling around the Peloponnese region in 2001. I have been going back ever since every year. There are great beaches within a 20 minute drive up or down the coast. Katakolon is a small town and is only on the cruise ship schedule because of its close proximity to Ancient Olympia. The port of Katakolon was originally developed for the trade in currants which were shipped all over the world from there. That area of Ilias was a major producer of currants. Looking forward to watching more of your travel adventures.

Love your vlogs they are very comprehensive and informative. You mention in the vlog that the land train stops at the vineyard. Can you get off and sample the wines and get back on later? I see the journey goes on to a beach with a lovely hotel. Do you have a set time there or just get off and catch a later land train?

@@gordybe1956 Hi Gordybe. Thanks for the nice comments. Glad you liked it. Yes you can get off at the vineyard. The driver leaves and completes the route. You just catch the land train when it returns. The driver will tell you how long. Yes you can get off at the beach and hotel. The same applies. The driver keeps running the sane route all day and you can just stay as long as you want and catch the next one. Hope that helps. Ray.

We were not on a cruiseline tour. We walked off ourselves and then got the trolley bus in that square then around the winery and then to the beach. They told us when the next buses would pick-up and we went to the beach, had a swim, had a beer at that nice bar, then caught the next trolley bus from the stop in front of the hotel. Return back to the square, then we walked down the front through those kitch restaurants. A cheap diy day out as we didn't fancy olympia. Hope that helps. It's beautiful there. Hope thats reflected in the video.
