Love all the inside facts you share with us, Richard . A friend of mine worked a few years on Celebrity. They've worked on Cunard, Seabourn, Crystal , P&O, HAL and RCI on the Sun Viking! She was in charge of taking care of special guests and groups and her husband has been a Purser and a Casino Manager . Names -Dee & Chris Beckitt. They used to tell me some INSANE stories about everything and anything that can happened on their cruises. I can listen to them all day! They told me cruise lines have black lists of problematoc guests and this info is shared out amongst other lines. Ive heard many stories about wealthy sugar daddies /old men, with gold digger girlfriends and wives, who wanted to stay onboard, even though their old man had died onboard and needed repatriation! Loads of crazy stuff. Theyre retired, now. Originally from London both of them. Retired in Spain.

@@NoPantsProfits We've been sailing with Celebrity for over 15 years and we'd prefer they moved away from the kids (20 somethings) scene. We prefer the luxury and select audience. For us it was always a balance between Amazing Quality food, Luxury Stay, without dead people on the couches and without conga lines and bud light cans everywhere... right down the middle. Fun but really nice.... that's our sweet spot.

Not sure I would say Carnival is better than anything Celebrity 🙂. If you are looking for quality food, quality service, Celebrity is the place. It is considered to be a higher end cruise line and they are. They upkeep the ships to a high standard. My next cruise will be my 10th cruise and have done Celebrity Edge in Europe, 5 on Royal, 1 on Norwegian Prima, 1 on Margaritaville out of West Palm Beach. Have noticed that each cruise has their own flare and can all be fun based on the people you go with. For me, best food so far has been on Norwegian.

Richard- Question What's the most expensive drink that you've ever had on a cruise ship? Mines one you hate😂- Cognac. Remy Martin Louis XIII L’Odyssee D’un Roi Cognac cost me $80 + grats for a half ounce. I know. I'm nuts, but the bar tender was so good at his job and looked after me so well that I ordered it deliberately cos the Beverage manager had shown up . I said "this fantastic bar tender of yours has convinced me to try it!".. Helped him impress the boss! 🎉

Both… they focused too much on getting the guests from their charters as their normal guests, angering their normal guests, basically they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

You were right about the old folks F’ing, my buddy worked at the State Hospital/nursing home and they used to catch the mental patients and elderly cracking it all the time in the “grove” garden area. Those little blue pills sell like meth in prison lol! 😝

I worked for celebrity for 7 years, Lisa Lutoff Perso destroyed the company and her replacement is WORSE! The edge class is “fine” but the older ships have major issues. Carnival keeps up with keeping even their old ships fresh. I am correct and you have a predisposed view of carnival which was created by negative attention brought by other cruise lines. Carnival has basically gentrified its newer ships and has become an entirely different brand. The carnival brand is becoming stronger as celebrity fades. Hopefully celebrity can change course before all their passengers die!

You're one of those that must find fault in most everything in life. Yet you will take a low budget hot dog dining cruise line with screaming kids and claim it trumps all. A buddy of mine just went on MSC cruise and said never again.

Celebrity- Dead'brity😂. I was contemplating a while ago Celebrity, but since researching on KZbin, I'm put off. I also think I'll prefer the ability to stay in an " all in" MSC Yacht club rather than a standard balcony on Celebrity ships with no perks. Ok, Celebrity has great food on their Edge class ships. But, I prefer for my money, the overall fun and younger atmosphere than just posh food!🎉 ... I once did a Queen Mary Transatlantic from Southampton to NYC...It was like you say, "Gods waiting room". Everyone was in bed by 10pm😂.. the night club was dead. Yes the food was amazing, but when thats the ONLY thing to look forward to..Yawn...😴 maybe in 30 years time Celebrity will appeal to me? Ill be in my early 70s by then 😂
