Really listen to what Nas said. He didn't say Snoop got it all wrong, he specifically said, "He had it wrong a little bit." Nas said the thing Snoop got wrong was regarding who initiated the confrontation. "He had said that Pac stepped to me." Nas then clarified that it was actually he who stepped to Pac, saying, "We had to step to our business." He said nothing to indicate Snoop was wrong about being surrounded. Granted, he didn't confirm Snoop's observation to be a fact, but he definitely didn't deny it, which is pretty consistent with Nas's personality.

It's called perception, out shows the state of mind Snoop was in when it took place. He was scared and tense, Pac was big headed. Pac was never a real gangster, but let all that shit go to his head. Nas was in a comfortable place, an is the kind of guy that not only is honest. But it's modest, an will even play shit down or of respect for Pac and the reputation that follows Pac. In other words, it probably went down as Nas tells it. An as Snoop tells it, but the tension was only felt by Snoop and Pac. Who both hid it by trying to act hard.

Snoop may have been a shooter in his younger days, being young & dumb & around real shooters & all that, but once that fame & money open other doors for him I think he sold out to say & do anything to maintain the accolades of being rich & famous & perceived as cool by the majority- a status not granted to those who sincerely keep it real across the board at all times. Those types are silenced rather quickly by the industry & media, be it by scandal or mysteriously entangled in something that leads to their murder or "assisted" suicide. Snoop has been recruited & inducted into the elite society now, he can't be trusted, they use his types because of their status knowing people blindly worship them to push agendas not in their favor.
