@Bruno algumacoisa I use a juicer and then I squeeze the waste in a nut bag to get more juice. Some people use a blender and a nut bag, I tried it but I did not like doing it this way. I think Anthony Williams is full of it but he says you should drink 16oz or 500ml first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and eat normally half an hour later. I enjoy breaking a fast with celery juice and I do shoot for about 500ml or a bit over when I have it. I rarely drink coffee now as I have found drinking celery juice and drinking green tea more enjoyable and they make me feel better than coffee.

Hi Thomas, just wanted to add that in Chinese Medicine, celery juice is mentioned in helping to reduce hypertension. I believe the recommended dose is about 2 liters/day. It is the potassium and NBP responsible in improving blood vessel function (Journal of the American Medical Association 1997;277(20):1624; journal of Human Hypertension 2003; 17(7):471; BMJ 2013; 346:f1378). Yes, the celery seeds are the main constituent that helps to reduce BP. The muscle relaxant effect of celery juice (dt its high potassium) can help to control blood pressure as well. As with all herbs, when used medicinally, we should take into consideration all the parts of that plant. In this case, the celery stalks, leaves and seeds. Synergistically used can have an effect on BP. I do agree with what you had said, in that when talking to the masses, it is important not to tell people to just drink celery juice and stop their BP medications. Best to incorporate the celery juice and monitor BP daily for changes. If you see a decrease over time in BP, talk to your PCP about how to safely reduce your BP medication dosage. Again, thanks for all your videos. Really do enjoy them!

A family member had chronic hives that started during pregnancy, worst in the evening. They started for no apparent reason. Chronic hives can be super tricky to figure out, but she still went to a couple dermatologists and a FM practitioner. She had a gut panel done, some other lab tests. In the end, they could not come up with anything conclusive that could be the cause. They all recommended allergy medication and some natural supplements but none really worked for more than a few hrs. Anyhow, she heard through a friend about this celery juice thing being good for a lot of stuff, and she figured that she had nothing to lose except the constant, at times severe, itching. Amazingly, it worked. They started going away and have stayed gone for almost 3 yrs. She still drinks celery juice a couple times a week to this day. I always knew natural foods were healing but I have a new found appreciation for this simple-looking veggie.

She had intrahepatic cholestasis, it happens to some pregnant women, because they have high level of estrogen. Excessive estrogen causes intrahepatic cholestasis, the bile can’t get out of the liver cells. Celery juice actually helps the bile to flow. That’s why it worked.

Hi Thomas, I wanted to let you know that you have helped me out tremendously. First on the sleep video that you did in reference to the histamine release and Keto/IF diet and now this video referencing histamine and swelling which also was causing itching on my lower legs, (not the keto rash). It's quite a coincidence too that my wife just fixed me celery and peanut butter for yesterday's lunch along with some other food of course. I've lost 15-20 lbs since 3 Jan 2019. Have not weighed this much for 25 years. I actually weighed around 205 to 210 and got myself down to 195 and could not break through the barrier until I watched your videos now weigh between 177 to 180 and continue to lose. Like you say about intermittent fasting and not doing it every single day sometimes it seems like after I eat and break the fast It seems like sometimes I lose weight later that day. Maybe due to my metabolism going back up? Thanks again and stay cool.:) Oh yah probably from water weight since fixing histamine made me lose the sodium retention.

@tiahnagrace63255 жыл бұрын
It depends who you ask, but eating celery whole provides you with fiber in addition to vitamins and minerals, juicing apparantly makes the vitamins and minerals more available, but doesn't give you the benefits of fiber. As for the seeds, I heard celery seed tea is good for you, but I don't know what exactly the benefits are, and how thay compares to juicing, or eating celery whole. The method you choose will depend on your health needs, and life style.

The health facts are simple. Popular culture tells us that salt (sodium) is bad for you. But sodium is one of the two main electrolytes and is absolutely essential. Celery juice contains sodium; which, due to pop-culture, is missing in many American's diets. People feel better because they have added an essential nutrient back into their diet.

It's because I juiced 16 ounces, halfway of drinking those 16 ounces I felt the urge to go to the restroom so I did normal. Then when I was about to finish the second half I felt the urge again to go to the restroom and it was diarrhea. Today was my 2nd day and halfway thru the juice I went to the restroom again but just regular. Was that normal?

I have been doing OMAD since 10 months im approaching my goal to get to 10% body fat and now im fully fat adapted But i do wanna increase my muscle mass what happened if i go back to caloric surpluse again without intermittent fasting or lets say with intermittent fasting Does my body still prefers to run on ketons instead of glucose?? And how this will affect my results on gaining muscles?
@lauren86275 жыл бұрын
From what I've read you can still be in Ketosis and be in a calorie surplus, as long as your carbs are low. I was looking into this for pregnancy and breastfeeding when you want to 'grow or produce' something. Muscle falls into that category. 😁 You could measure your ketones in urine with strips just to be sure. But I haven't used them before. Some people say they feel less strong on keto and revert to a paleo diet to build lots of muscle. Whatever works I guess.

@@lauren8627 thanks for the info i guess if i eat high carb foods on intermittent fasting i still be in ketosis... im gonna give it a try

You can do a caloric surplus Keto diet for sure, but those urine strips only work in the beginning as they measure excess ketones. Invest in a blood meter like Keto Mojo

Surely blending a vegetable such as celery is better than juicing as it retains the fibre thus reduces insulin spike and also provides essential fibre for the gut microbiome too

My question is why the juice, can you just eat it or blend it?

Yes EAT celery...don't juice.. helps rid the system of uric acid...which aids arthritic problems. Good shout , thanks Thomas. X

Do both. Celery juice is nutrient dense, I doubt many people can eat a bunch of Celery in one sitting but drinking the juice from a bunch of Celery is easy and unlike other juices it is low in calories and does not contain high amounts of sugar or carbs. I'm actually surprised Thomas did not emphasise the one serious benifit to celery juice for people on Keto. People on Keto often struggle with Potassium intake, Celery juice is one of the best ways to boost potassium intake. Celery juice will help boost many vitamins and minerals in your diet but significantly 500ml of Celery juice will provide approximately 20% of your daily potassium requirement and Calcium 11%, Manganese 14%, Magnesium 7%, Vitamin K 96%, Vitamin C 14%, Vitamin A 14%, Folate 14% as well as B vitamins and others. And you get all this for only approximately 42 kcal and about 3 net carbs. So yes eat celery and drink celery juice.

An Avocado has, like, a third of your daily potassium needs and it’s also high in fat. No one on Keto who isn’t allergic to avocados should have trouble with potassium
@theauthenticsteve5 жыл бұрын
@@ThomasDeLauerOfficial For the same amount of potassium Avo has almost 6 times the calories. For 1/3 of their daily requirement of Potassium a normal man would have to consume over 500 kcal. That doesn't leave a lot of calories before surplus to work with to fit both the other 2/3 while hitting all your other nutritional requirements. It's easy to fit your nutrition in when you are so big. But try to consider how hard it is to hit nutrient targets for a smaller person like my 42kg wife without going into caloric surplus. It's hard enough for a regular 73kg male. Of course I could just get big but big people don't live over 100 and for me health and longevity are more important goals than impressive muscles.

Celery isn't a food. If I had a time machine, I'd go back and find the caveman who first tasted it then told other people it was food and slap his face.
