SOLEN Polys and ALCAP electrolytic. Good enough for this little re-cap. Cheers

I rebuilt my 25's more than 30 years ago new boxes and recapped them with new caps. But my crossovers look nothing like those, weird!

Yours were probably MK1 crossovers? Brown boards ?

Cordialement, Georges

Have you had much experience changing the connectors on the back of the Ditton 25's? I find them really inconvenient and outdated for modern banana plugs etc. Wondered if you had any advice?

Like most of the Ditton range they will either have the round plastic cups with the thumb screw binding posts of they will be binding posts fitted in a recessed panel. Both types are easy to replace. You'll find me doing this in a number of my videos. Binding posts are available from loads of places including ebay. Just be careful if you have the round plastic cups. The round badge is metal. If your binding posts don't have insulated bases they can short out. The originals have little paxolin washers

Thank you for the reply! Yes, they're the round cups at the back. Definitely looking to work on them at some point so I'll look through your Ditton videos for reference. @@haycrossaudio5474

@haycrossaudio5474 found your video covering it on some Ditton 44's. Lastly, would you recommend any sort of banana terminals? Just curious!

@@Ejlectronics6 Excellent. Yeah try and stay away from anything steel based. Go for brass or copper. Something with a 4mm thread is ideal. Thread can be short to.

Does the voltage values on the caps matter? Planning to revive my old 25s.
@haycrossaudio5474 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't use anything less than 100volt. Not that the speakers will ever see that amount

@@haycrossaudio5474 Thank you. Is it possible to have a copy of the schematics? Although the crossovers on my speakers look different. Tried to look for your email but I can’t seem to find it.
