Celestron 14 Conversion to Hyperstar and Carbon Fiber tube

In this video we walk through the steps to convert a vintage (1983) Celestron 14 optical tube to Hyperstar (using components from Starizona). At the same time, the optical tube is swapped out to a carbon fiber tube. This should minimize thermal expansion impacts for astrophotography.

Actually, not so good. I am getting significant blue fringing around stars. I have much smaller scopes that easily outperform it. I talked to the vendor and they said the mirror may be pinched. So far I have not had time to disassemble the scope and check that. It may be because my C-14 is older (1983)... I'm thinking the newer ones may work better. I do hope I can fix it, otherwise I have a VERY expensive piece of optical gear that I cannot use.
