so the takeaway here is... spend more than R32 GTR money to make 250whp on 4 wheels on full time bind-up. got it. Joking aside, all those money spent on mods, nothing short of 350whp + on pump shoulda been achieved. more on E85. otherwise, what's the point on all that extra auxiliary fuel stuff? 300whp can be reached on mostly stock stuff with your average bigger turbine, standalone and fuel system, why go SO far.. for 250?
@jdmscene6thgencelica3904 жыл бұрын
Ikura Burst - definitely capable of more HP but on stock internals any more than 350 crank is risking it. I do have spare engine that is being modded to 5SGTE and that should be about 600 HP hopefully. Definitely cost a lot but it’s a hobby.
@maccadan902 жыл бұрын
The CT20 turbo is the culprit. They're simply too outdated in compressor design. 20-30 years is a very long time in turbo technology, it's just not going to flow like a new turbo would
@longsleevethong14572 жыл бұрын
Full time Bind up? How so??
@Fuffcat2 жыл бұрын
@Long sleeve thong 4wd cars (Evo, Celica gtfour, Subaru WRX) all utilize a bastardised version of what jeeps have. Instead of being locked on hi or lo to remove the drive train bind at higher speeds, they all utilize something called a viscous coupling. It allows a degree of slippage from front/rear torque rather than doing it manually through a lever- a happy medium that allows it to be streetable. The big flaw in this is that it is JUST a happy medium. All wheels are always interlocked to the same degree that they are always allowed to slip. Meaning that torque and power will always be pushing against the forces of front and back drivetrain at all times. Coming in great handy in low traction situations, but also being parasitically lost to heat when undesired. They offer no break. With that said, your final drive ratio entirely depends on BOTH differentials ratios, forcing the car to slow to the shortest ratio (they are usually matched up from factory anyways, and usually are set fairly short since 4wd needs all the torque it can get to overcome trying to spin front and back all the time with a 2 liter engine) This is where Audi's Quatrro, Hondas SH-AWD, and Nissans ATTESSA come in. They actually TURN OFF the FWD/RWD part of the equation when not needed to allow the drive train to freespin with as minimal drag as possible. This allows a higher top speed potential when going for straight or better fuel efficiency when cruising. And then allowing the benefits of 4wd when FWD/RWD by itself gets a loss of traction.
@longsleevethong14572 жыл бұрын
@@Fuffcat ahhh yeah that’s what makes Audis Quattro so good. I figured that’s what you were talking about. All my 4wd vehicles have had a slight binding issue at some point.
