They claim that The Strangers is based on a true story. Whether it is or not, it is genuinely the only movie that ever scared me. In the very first scene, before the character even knows something is going on, the first man is already in the house. At the end, when she asks, "why are you doing this to us?" He says, "because you were home." That is scarier than most concepts, in my opinion.

21:26 A Fun but Horrible Fact: One of the injuries she sustained was actually caused by the director. She had already hurt her back, even telling the director that she was injured and to not pull her back too hard in the harness (which was supposed to pull her backwards in a crucial moment), but he ignored her pleas and had them still pull her backwards hard, it was so hard that she went into the radiator/wall and broke a part of her spine. So when you see her in pain, that's not acting, she was in literal pain and was only treated after they got their shot, even including it in the film. She spoke about it in an interview after the film was released.

Also if she was meant to have been a witch then she would never have been burried in consercrated ground which she is. She has been demonised due to the warrens when in fact she had nothing to do with what went on at the property.
@jessicabrandow4304Ай бұрын
Blair and Burstyn actually both suffered lower spinal fractures during filming. The footage when Blair was being flung around violently on the bed was actually a stunt gone wrong and caused her to break a portion of her lower spine. They never took her to a doctor and never broke from shooting. That footage is in the movie. Burstyn was thrown up against a cabinet violently without proper stunt equipment and fractured her lower spine. That footage is also what you see in the film and despite her needing crutches for two weeks they never stopped filming. She has suffered with back problems the rest of her life following that incident.
@mcrchickenluvrАй бұрын
Her spine was actually broken when she was yanked into the wall with the harness. The thrashing on the bed did some damage that weakened the bones. They did get her medical attention but it was a day or two later after they knew they got their desired shot.

My husband and I met online and bonded over our love of horror movies. My favorite part of The Exorcist is the split second flashes to a "devil face." Poltergeist is a great movie. (Adding) Please don't go to the Conjuring house. The lady that owns it is crazy and is harassing people and the whole situation is bonkers. Don't support her.
@closetculture3025Ай бұрын
My family has a tie to the Poltergeist movie. The Atlas truck in the movie belonged to my father in law and my husband has pictures of them being on set. His dad is unfortunately gone now, but it's a lovely memory for him to remember everytime we watch the movie. I've always been a huge horror movie buff and when he first told me and showed me the pics I about died with glee because that movie has always been a favorite of mine as well. Everytime it's mentioned, I like to tell this about my father in law and husband being there and being a part of the movie because we get to remember him and I think he deserves to be remember by everyone else as well. I've also been a practicing witch my whole life and I do think the curse is real in a way, but one way to combat a curse is to turn it into a positive experience and to send it back to where it came from and we have done that. The curse is not a part of the memories my husband has of his father and it will never darken those happy memories we get to talk about and share with others. I know my husband's father would be proud of his son and I am proud to be his wife and that I get to share those memories with him and our children about their grandfather. He had a great life and I hope he is at peace wherever he is.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose As someone with Dissociative Identity Disorder, a disorder that develops in early childhood due to severe repeated trauma that disrupts the development of a singular personality/identity of the individual, Analise's story is shockingly and terrifyingly similar to what some with the disorder experience.. With religious trauma, some with the disorder may think themselves possessed because of the "hearing voices" and "acting unlike themselves", something I personally experienced in my early 20s before learning about the disorder.. Her story makes me so glad mental health research is where it is now for people like me who would have DEFINITELY been in her situation.. It really is tragic what happened to her, it should have never happened

@catimonsterАй бұрын
My favourite horror movies are ones that could actually happen, those tend to freak me out the most because I imagine it happening to me. My fav movie is the strangers, I can’t explain why but I think it’s for that reason. The first scary movie i saw part of that traumatised me was at the age of 4. I was born in 1973 so am older. I snuck upstairs at night and caught a glimpse of what I believe was the swamp thing. Inside my head he was known as the mud monster and I was convinced it lived in the basement of every home lol. As a teenager at a sleepover some friends and I watched the Texas chainsaw massacre. We only got about halfway through that one. It probably took a decade before I was ever able to try to watch that movie again. It scared us silly. In my 20s I watched the entity and it freaked me out so bad that I never allowed myself to watch or think about it. The idea that something could attack someone in such a manner is beyond terrifying to me as a woman. I think maybe 10 years ago I watched it again and the fictional aspects they added in the last part of the movie were so stupid that I’m not as afraid. Although I don’t think I would ever watch it again unless they did an amazing remake and took out that ridiculous fictional part of trying to trap the entity. Geez! When I was 20, so mid 1990s there was an old movie theatre here that on Saturday nights would show one midnight movie. Myself and about 6 guy friends went to go see one of the faces of death movies. We’d all heard of them but hadn’t seen any. The theatre was packed and all but myself and a friend had to find single seats scattered across the theatre. During one part of the movie I noticed someone up front stand up and begin running to the exit quite awkwardly as he had to manoeuvre up the far right side of the theatre. Turns out it was one of our friends who barely made it to the bathroom to puke due to the graphic nature of the content, some of which was straight up fiction but most I believe was real. It’s kinda crazy to think how so much of that type of content is normalised now with the rise of the internet and social media. As far as the supernatural, I personally have never experienced something that I couldn’t explain but I believe that anything is possible and I don’t discount what other people claim to have experienced. But I do believe that sometimes people either straight up lie or more likely aren’t being critical thinkers in the moment when many times there is a logical explanation. For example, yesterday I walked past a glass of ice water and the straw completely moved in a circle around the edge of the cup jingling to ice in the process. Obviously that happened as the ice melted and shifted but I can easily see how someone could assume it was supernatural. I was obsessed with that show the haunted years ago and after scaring myself way too much I had a very frightening experience in a hotel room that I probably stayed in at least 10 times within a decade time period. This was on the Oregon coast and I always booked the same room when I stayed there. During one visit when I was watching way too many ghost shows I was terrified while staying in that room. There was overwhelming sense of heaviness in the back bedroom. I was convinced something evil was there. I’ve since stayed in that same room at least 4 or more times and never had that feeling, nor have I had that feeling anywhere else. For me, I personally believe that the more someone is exposing themselves to lots of paranormal content, etc, the more someone is opening themselves up to that sort of activity happening in their lives, or more logically they are allowing their minds to take something logical and turn it into something that appears paranormal. It is hard to believe what the human brain is capable of doing as we barely understand the complexities of the brain. I think most things supernatural can be logically explained as otherwise but I do believe that anything is possible and we should all try to keep an open mind because who knows? I find horror movie’s fascinating but I now limit my viewing of paranormal content to just a little bit at a time because honestly, that hotel room “experience “ was terrifying. And I’d rather not test out my theory lol.
