One thing I always wondered about Cell. I know he has all the Saiyan Genes, Frieza's potential and all that, but would the concept of Training even hit him? I mean, his entire life goal was to become 'perfect' literally programmed into his very being, but if he reaches said perfection would he even have a desire to get stronger even if there is someone leagues more powerful than him? I know he got the Zenkai boost when he self destructed, but that was completely by accident.

Technically the anime had him training in the 10 days up until the Cell Games with filler. The manga had Cell confident in his “perfection” so he never did and never thought to train. Manga Cell would probably never think to train in his life and more likely never actually attempt to train kinda like Future 17 and 18 never trained.

Even if it is that it's gotten better, NOW, it is pitiful that they need 120+ episodes to achieve any meaningful improvement in the animation, especially when (from what I've heard) it is mostly the same team that worked on the old series. And the characters and the details still haven't improved. Only the energy blast and explosions, maybe. That's hardly worthy of applause, after 30+ years.

1. It wasn't a counter argument, but... since you've taken it that way.... 2. It's not the same team, but there are some animators from the old series who work on it only from time to time. 3. Characters and details haven't improved? Ha, that made my day... maybe you need to look closer. Lighting is more appropriate, expressions and movements more dynamic, artstyle more rigid instead of pudgy... I could go on for days lol 4. Also, it's ironic how you say that when DBZ in its early days (not the Blu-ray re-releases, the ones I'd bet you're familiar with) was pretty much in the same state as Super. If you're egging Super for doing what DBZ did, then that's your problem... 5. Do you know the difference between art and animation...? Because art isn't the only factor when it comes to that, if I put out a still or a tween of the same pic with good art and called it "good animation", I'd probably be stoned lol. If you dislike Super's artstyle, that's all good, but if you're gonna say it's got bad animation, then maybe you should do some research on what animation actually is... what makes it good... etc.

Artstyle of Super is generally worse here because it has to be kid-friendly now. And when it started out it had far worse animation than Dragon Ball Z when it did.

I'll admit it got better, around the 110th episode. And people even joked that the creators blew all their budget on the Goku vs. Jiren fight in 109-110. But, considering how the movies and how the series looked, for quite a while, it is rather unacceptable that after 30+ years, this is the best they could do. Seriously? They should just use the assets of this FighterZ game, improve on the admittedly shoddy lip-movement and make a series out of it, for fuck's sake.
