@Powellvalley - LSG SERIES grid takes infill materials and produces a stiff base by creating a semi-rigid slab. The system prevents the lateral displacement of infill materials, eliminating rutting and washboarding associated with gravel pavements. The system allows for a reduction in overall base thickness, as well as enabling subgrade materials to withstand more than 10 times the number of cyclic load applications, without the appearance of deflection when compared to unconfined aggregates.

Really great system. I'm going to have to look into this as a possible choice for a new driveway!

The system confines materials and prevents lateral movement away from the applied load. The stabilizer grid acts as a large mat, by spreading the load over an extended area while increasing the load bearing capacity of the pavement surface.

all very nice, what is a pipe breaks under it or want to lay pipe under it. how easy do you think it would be to dig up. keep in mind conventional pick or chipping hammer wont fare well against a soft fabric that wont let material break apart while not allowing to be cut due to compacted material in cells. all i know is i dont want to have to do it

I truly loved that music. Where can I buy that so I can make all my neighbors hate me.

Not washed gravel but crushed stone that might have been washed when it was made. A concept that might be useful in some areas but it would never hold up here in NW Ohio under any type of traffic with weight maybe not even under auto traffic. Would work great for a walk or deck/patio area though.

interesting. so this is just so you dont have to lay a base and then sand. how much does this cost because in southern cali, sand isnt that expensive, also how thick is it because to keep pavers flush with road you may need to dig it down which means more prep time and excess dirt that needs to be hauled, that alone could be a deal breaker depending on whether drives cost past normal methods

What is the purpose or advantage of using this product vs. just putting gravel in the driveway?
@ninaashton98296 жыл бұрын
It's supposed to keep the gravel from rutting.

Can you later put concrete or ashfault over it?
@lagunagreg40198 жыл бұрын
Probably not. you'd need to first put in all the layers of substrate that normally precede laying concrete or asphalt. This doesn't need anything like that, which is why it's so much cheaper.

How can it be pervious? You put plastic underneath!
@0xFF488 жыл бұрын
It's not plastic, it's geotextile fabric. It's laid under the gravel to keep the soil and the gravel from mixing with each other. Depending on the type of geotextile fabric used, it can look like plastic but it's porous to let water slowly pass, but not allow the gravel or soil through.

most geo fab holds water....so its going to stay wet under there....the height of this plastic stuff would mean more excavation...the cost of washed agg is high...the cost of the plastic stuff im guessing is quite high....and i didnt see any edging to contain the pavers...so theyll move and the entire drive will need to be re-done....thatll cost ya....so...heres an idea....employ someone who knows what theyre doing....a good solid compacted base and a layer of bedding sand. not rocket science
