How is the sound so well recorded? Finally somebody utilizes good microphones for outdoor playing.
@josh_5_7264 жыл бұрын
Might be to Playback. Not that Yo-Yo Ma can't play the cello, just playing in the cold and wet will make your sound almost useless, so he might have opted to use a recording of himself and play to it. Or it might have been a piezo pickup or contact microphone like some acoustic guitars have.
@corneliusnowicki53633 жыл бұрын
@@josh_5_726 It's definitely not playback. Noone can play solo bach from playback. The performance is different every time, so the performer would have no idea how the recording goes of by heart and be able to follow it exactly. playback only works for things that are in consistent time and are not solo

Bach, my favourite. Question!! Did the war end for everyone, in 1945? The British exit from colonised countries started new conflicts which needs to be recognised. The world was in the process of getting mapped.
@gabrielmuniz32665 жыл бұрын
Armistice from the WW1 not WW2, in any case, you are right. During WW2 a lot of colonies from Germany were attacked and mapping was done. France, Britain and Belgium treated horribly Africa it's seen till today actually. A great number of political figures from Africa were killed by the hands of Europeans.
@KB-uv7wj5 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielmuniz3266 There were uncomfortable stories which came out later and we learnt about these in the age of the internet. For e.g. Indian Army including turban wearing Sikh soldiers were in Berlin in 1940. The Nazis did not hurt them. The struggle for Indian Independence led to a pact with Germany. If the Nazis were advocating Aryan superior race why were Sikh soldiers not killed?? This was not taught in our history.

They are truly few examples, in fact, Nazi Germany had great diplomacy tactics. But they didn't choose allies I the right way. Besides that, the secret for a nation to go right back in 20century was simply avoiding the loss of population. Soviet Union failed because great amounts of minds fled, the same case with Germany with the Jews, the Jews had a essential presence in Europe, that is: Science, Industry and Banking.

Love Bach, love Yo-Yo ma. However, I wonder if this spcific piece really fits into the situation and the meaning the meeting wants to evoke. I wonder if the cellist himself picked this piece. Hope someone could elaborate on that. (p.s. Mr. Trump seems rather indifferent).
@JeffreyCWang5 жыл бұрын
The C minor Sarabande conveys multiple and ambiguous meanings, not unlike the faces of the world leaders present. Bach would often associate various keys with symbolism. In the case of C minor, it's often interpreted as anger. However, the emptiness in this music and the space it creates in the air requires somewhat of an imagination from the listener to understand. I personally think of it as giving the "silent treatment". Given that Yo-Yo played this exact Sarabande at his own father's funeral, as well as in a Japanese temple among many other places, I have no doubt it was his personal selection.

Never have a seen a man so bored attending a service to remember those who gave their lives fighting for their country and to bring an end to the endless killing experienced during World War I. President Trump skipped the American service the day before because of the rain and certainly wasn't in a mood to remember those who gave their lives fighting for America. Never have I been so disgusted by the mere appearance of a man as I was to see the face of the American President in Paris supposedly to pay respect to those American young men who gave their lives fighting for their country in a far off land. President Trump's presence did not bring honor to the memory of all those young men who died for America - what he did do was show dishonor to America and we in America showed our dishonor for Mr Trump with the election results a few days earlier.
