Questions: 1. How often do you do those reinforcement layers? 2. How do you connect two tails of the reinforcement to each other? How do you handle the corners? 3. Do you use mortar or concrete for the reinforcement? 4. Why is you wall thicker than your foundation? Is it for insulation? How many centimeters is it allowed to go outside of the foundation?

This type of block is widely used in Europe , it has many eco properties , structural strength, high insulation values , fast construction and most importantly Im3 of mix material will make upto 5M3 of building material . Laid properly with the correct thin joint mortar and bed joint reinforcement all cracking issues will not happen, they are plastered easily with priority one coat plasters . The secret is having the knowledge how to use the material correctly which unfortunately is lacking in the UK construction workforce .

here where I live 25kg of cement costs 6 bucks, 40kg of sand costs 2 bucks, that's 9 cement blocks from YTONG (65kg/7.3kg = 8.9blocks). You can build as many as cement blocks as you wish, of any shape, the limit is only your imagination. With 2 hours of time intra-week + full hollidays and you have got your house in a year. The only reason people doesn't have house is because they don't want it.

is it cheaper compared to the conventional brick laying technology..

AAC blocks are easier and faster to implement, but when it comes to plastering and putty they can be tricky as in significant cases they lead to cracking.

Silica is not completely harmless to your health. When cutting or scoring these blocks us a respirator. Silicosis of the lungs is terrible, and irreversible. So do yourself a favor and wear more than just protective clothing.

Autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is a lightweight cellular concrete that has been used for more than 80 years. Currently, however, no good recycling options for AAC from construction and demolition waste exist. for more details

I imagine that recycling has been attempted without consulting the plants - most recycle both the green and cured blocks into their production process.

always the negative, our waste disposal area in our town recycles bricks, concrete and other products, they get all ground up and used in road base.

Good grief. Just grind it up and you're left with sand. Or will that cause the entire world ecosystem to collapse?
