Dave Kerr I remember, I think it was his debut game, he came off the bench against Kilmarnock and scored this amazing goal. Then he’d just run about losing possession constantly. Fans were frustrated with him, then he scored a double against Rangers as was voted the best player in the world for that week by FIFA or something like that. Crazy player.

MY CELTIC TRANSFER TARGETS 2020/21: 🍀🍀🍀 Before I can do my targets I need to do my sell list to free up wages and show what positions I will be targeting. I will also list an alternative target for certain positions. Sell: 🏴 Bain, 🏴 Gordon, 🏴 Taylor, 🇮🇪 Hayes,🏴 Hendry, 🇮🇱 Bitton, 🇨🇮 Kouassi (Loan), 🇿🇼 Benyu, 🇦🇺 Rogic,🏴 Sinclair,🏴 Morgan, 🇨🇮 Bayo (Loan), Griffiths (50/50) GK: 🏴 Fraser Forster - Pretty obvious. He has everything needed. 6'7, loves the club, BIG game player (no pun intended), phenomenal goalkeeper overall. It's been reported by certain media outlets that Celtic DO have an option to buy. We need to take it. We won't get better. 🏴 Joe Lewis - With my decision to sell Scott Bain and Craig Gordon we only have Forster. Joe Lewis has proved over the years at Aberdeen he is a quality goalkeeper and I'm sure would be happy to take up a 2nd role at Celtic for a bigger wage. 6'6, great shot-stopper, proven in Scottish football and is definitely affordable. Would be the ideal back up goalkeeper. LB: 🇳🇴 Solberg Meling - Greg Taylor is not Celtic quality in my opinion, and with him being sold that leaves us with one natural LB. Meling's contract will only have 6 months left at the end of the season. He has proved against us on multiple occasions he is a real handful and even scoring at Celtic Park. He is affordable, has European experience and would be a great rival to Bolingoli for that starting LB spot. We won't get better value CB: 🇭🇷 Filip Benkovic - Benkovic was personally my favourite player in our team during his short time at Celtic. He had everything. He‘s 6’4 and physically strong, has a great tackle on him, he was calm and composed when playing out from the back in pressure situations and was just that next level player who stood out in our defence. It would be a costly deal but for me it would be worth it as whatever we paid we would make money on him in a few years, no question. For me, there isn't a better realistic CB we can get. 🇷🇸 Strahinja Pavlović - If we couldn’t afford Benković, then Pavlović would be a great alternative. He stands at 6'4 and is VERY highly rated in Serbia. Pavlovic is left footed which is something we do not currently have at centre back and at 18 years old has INCREDIBLE potential. You can pretty much guarantee that whatever we spend on this boy we would never lose money, and probably make a fantastic profit in a few years. And let's be honest, who doesn't love a hard as f*** Serbian in their team! CDM: 🇰🇪 Victor Wanyama - Like Forster, this is an obvious one. Wanyama is an absolute monster of a player! You all know what you get with him so I won't bother explaining. Victor's deal with Spurs is up in 2021, and with Spurs apparently having a clear out with Wanyama being one of those on the list, Celtic should be able to get him on a cut-price deal. If he was willing to take a drop in wages to get game time this is definitely a deal we should be exploring. His wages and injury record are a slight concern, but if the finances are right we should 100% take the gamble 🇨🇮 Ibrahim Sangaré - Sangaré stands at 6'3 tall and is a daunting figure to say the least. As random as it may sound, I have seen Toulouse on multiple occasions this season, and Sangaré is a vital member of their squad. He is fantastic at breaking up play but also has the ability to play with the ball at his feet. Super strong and with that large frame would be another deadly option from set pieces. At only 22 years of age, Sangaré would be an investment and would not decrease in value. Seeing as we've already signed 1 player from Toulouse this season, maybe we could use that link and get another? LW: 🇳🇴 Mohamed Elyounoussi - Elyounoussi has been a revelation since joining on loan from Southampton! He was lethal at Molde and Basel and would be a HUGE coup if we could secure him on a permanent basis. If Southampton were to get relegated from the Premier League this season, they would almost certainly need a clear out to cut the wage bill. With Elyounoussi being out of favour we could possibly be in line for another cut price deal. This is the caliber of signings we need to be aiming for if we are to get back to the Champions League! 🇭🇷 Mislav Oršic - The Croatian is on red hot form for Dynamo Zagreb this season, even scoring a hat-trick in the Champions League at home to Shakhtar Donetsk. He also scored 3 goals in qualifying and a sensational 8 goals in 9 games in the Croatian league this season. Zagreb signed him for a measly 900k last season, so definitely got a bargain. He is also incredibly two-footed which is a phenomenal trait to have. If we didn't get Elyounoussi this boy would likely be equally as impressive! ST: (Back up) 🇳🇬 Paul Onuachu - Onuachu is 6'7 tall which makes him a huge ariel threat. I watched him play against Rangers and he was a handful. Plain and simple. He has a nice finish on him, is difficult to stop without fouling once he gets going and offers us something we don't really have in a target man. He has a modest return of 5 goals in 11 games so far this season, but with a striker of this type, he will be effective in more ways than just goals. Seeing as he plays for FC Midtjylland in Denmark, he should be well within budget too. UPDATE: Onuachu signed for Genk in a £5m deal, after Midtjylland's European failure.

i think your targets are great but i would keep some of the players but i think orsic is a long shot
@celticfan675 жыл бұрын
KayAre that's a fair point. My opinion is just that he's constantly injured and it's just another wage to pay. Joe Lewis is playing for Aberdeen on, I'm gonna guess; 3-5k per week, winning nothing. At Celtic he could be on double that and winning trophies and playing European football every season. So I'll reverse the question to you. Why would Joe Lewis rather play for Aberdeen than be a back up for Celtic?
@celticfan675 жыл бұрын
Aidan Drenny Orsic is a long shot indeed, I knew that when making this. You just never know if a £8-10m bid went in. I might do another target along side them but thanks for the feedback anyway, appreciate it! 👍🏼

As an American fan who watches MLS predominantly, I gotta throw in some local boys you guys should look at. Valentín Castellanos, NYCFC, as an attacking mid/fwd. Kid was on fire for a spell and is pretty obvious he's destined for bigger and better things. Best get him now before the Argentine ends up shooting way too high up in price. He's value has nearly tripled since taking the field consistently for New York. Miles Robinson, defender for Atlanta. Built like an American Football player at 6'2" and 185 pounds (84ish kilos) he's strong and young and will anchor defenses for a long time.. slotted right into one of MLS' best 11's as if he was there all along in only his first two seasons as a pro. Keeper, Bill Hamid, DC United. Hands down is just the best active keeper in the league at a good age of 28. Simply put, he should be playing in Europe already and its a wonder as to what back room office dealings have stopped him from going. Jordan Morris, striker, Seattle. His stock dropped a lot after choosing to stay home rather than playing for Werder Bremen, and then had a season ending injury shortly after.. but that works out in favor of the next team to make a bid. Morris has slowly put surely put himself right back into the conversation of being USA's top striker. When he's on, he's damn good. He could make some great great business in the back up ST market.

One of the very first games I saw McGeady play for Celtic was in a friendly against Newcastle United at Celtic Park . He was outstanding ; so much so that Bobby Robson ordered two of his defenders to double up on McGeady early in the match . It made no difference . He would and should have reached much bigger heights if it wasn't for his belligerent attitude . Remember his on field spat with team mate , Neil Lennon ?
