Continuing with Michael's popular series of “Celtic Air and Dance” arrangements, the third installment opens with “Red is the Rose” (or “Loch Lomond”) in a flowing ballad treatment. The lively “Bill Sullivan's Polka” follows and features various sections of the band. The flutes start things off followed by the rest of the woodwinds, trumpets, percussion, low brass and finally the entire ensemble in an energetic finish.

I’m in 6th grade and since one of my directors are retiring my other director talked to Micheal Sweeney and organized a song called Celtic Air and Dance no. 5. Does anyone else find it strange that this piece is written in 4/4 but played and conducted in 2/4? It always confused me when we played it at high school. Tempo is 80, so pretty slow, and if you play it as 4/4 at that pace, it's half the pace it should be. 🤔 But don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this piece of music.

There are 2 songs in this piece. The first one, is 4/4. The second one is 2/4
