Fun fact, this song had its origins as a Britney Spears cover from the band's infamous Prototype sessions. "Now then... what would be the connection between Celtic Frost and Britney Spears, you may wonder. Well, it just happens that during the experimental 'Prototype' sessions in late 2002, the band actually recorded a cover version of her 1998 song 'Baby one more time'. Martin performed the vocal on the track, as he was fascinated by the lyrics and really made this song his own. Erol was engineering the recording with a loop based on a scratched LP from Martin, but Martin produced most of it himself. Celtic Frost's version is called 'Transfixed' as was reported during the early years of work on 'Monotheist', although the full title is in fact 'Transfixed by Spears'. The song would eventually somehow morph into what became 'Incantation against you', as both songs share a similar style, with only a vocal melody backed by a sustained bass tone. Even though the song is incredibly humorous, it actually stands on its own, and if one didn't recognize the lyrics, it would sound as an authentic CF number.
