Kayreen, I am a 15-year Bilateral Invasive Triple-Negative Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer survivor, who is touched by your post because I have such gratitude for your dedication to my survival. All my life, nurses have played a big role in my life. As an adult, cancer showed me that oncology nurses are the best of the best. To thank you for your work as a research nurse, here is a little about the oncology research I’ve benefited from: 1) I was one of the first patients in the specialized breast MRI machine, to position a wire locator, pre-lumpectomy. I’m still amazed at the brilliant idea of wiring the breast so the surgeon can just follow the wire, remove the tiny tumour at the end of it, without even having to identify the tissue visually. It was cancer. That tissue is now in our provincial registry, being used for research. 2. Three chemo drugs x 6 mos. I know that people with no hope of survival volunteered to participate in double-blind studies, not knowing if they would get the drug or the placebo. And you are their nurse. And I’m alive because of you both. 3. Finally, skin-saving bilateral mastectomy after genetic work-up & strong recommendation from Geneticist. As it turned out, I decided against reconstruction but, because of research, it was an option for me. (I couldn’t handle the idea of foreign stuff in my body after all that.) So much more goes into protocol research, too… And there’s so much more that’s beyond my knowledge. On a very personal note, I thank you because I have experienced and spread deep hope and great joy since then. I hope the same for you and your soul. About the harp… The harp used to help me with pain control and my need for comfort during the awful bits, including the wire location, which was very interesting but not much fun. 😉 Thank you for the work you do. It must be hard on you to see what you see. Know that your work is greatly appreciated by those who love me. Here’s a thought that Wendy Edey taught me. She’s “The Hope Lady”. “Just because the sun occasionally hides behind a cloud doesn’t mean it’s not there.” There’s always hope even though I can’t always find it. J.

As I have listened to this for probably well over an hour now, it's really sinking into me, lifting me up, and I'm finding it very special. It's shifting me in a way that's allowing me to move freely in improvisational movements for therapy for my stiff and aching body. It's causing something to happen that's allowing me to do what I normally can't do. The more I do it the more therapeutic it is! Releasing tense muscles & fascia (neck, arms, back, hips). It's really very unique, the spirit of your improvisation is coming through and this suddenly just happened for me as I've been listening to this and doing little chores and eating around in my room. Then suddenly I began being able to fluidly dance and release this tension. I just can't thank you & appreciate you enough, Nature's Spirit! I send you good energy and pray that I shall become employed again since I lost my job/profession bc of covid, so I can join & donate to you & your work.
