I attended Kilmarnock v Celtic in the Viaplay Cup at Rugby Park. Celtic won the last two Scottish League Cups but they won't win it in 23/24.
Credit to Kilmarnock, they were excellent and will look to go on and win the competition!

Was at the Hearts match, thought Killie could easily make top 6 with that team, it felt near impossible to break them down. Maybe even push for top 4, but I never got a good feel for how good their attackers were, it was a total stalemate. Obviously it's extremely early doors but it was one of the better performances I've seen at Tynecastle from a team outside the Old Firm for a few years.

Just some perspective on Scottish football... Aberdeen TV quote before the match against Stirling Albion - 'We're never gonna judge our season on how we do against Celtic'. Follwed by - 'Celtic game, I think you can write off'. This shows the mentality of certain clubs in Scotland when coming up against the old firm. Of course in Aberdeen's case, this would have never been said about Rangers - simply an observation. What Kilmarnock have shown, is that if you have some belief in your own ability and do your homework, results can be had against both teams. We can blame plastic pitches all we want but the reality is, both sides, both with vastly larger budgets, were outplayed on the day. That attitude from Aberdeen's commentators is pathetic. Even while striving to be the third best club in Scotland, how you do against Celtic or Rangers should give you a measure of success for the season. Unless you're telling your supporters you have no intention of even attempting to close the gap. These particular quotes coming across somewhat ironic, given who the current Killie manager is. The Scottish league would be so much better if everyone else followed suit, rather than accepting defeat before a ball was kicked.

As a Celtic fan, I have to admit that Kilmarnock deserved Thier win ! They have made a great start to the season and obviously brought in quality players so credit to them ! Celtics approach to Thier opponents was wrong especially with the fact they beat rangers fault lies with Rodgers he's fielding players who ange wouldn't have and I fear his experiments will be to Celtics detriment!
