I saw Celtic Woman live in Lexington on Aug 3rd this year. I want to thank them all, but especially Mairead for giving me the inspiration to start playing again! Not a day has gon by since the concert that I haven't picked up my violin and played!!! Love al of them!

Few people radiate music from their soul as Mairead does. So lovely and talented. Also, I could have sworn I saw her walking around Nashville TN in 2007, on of all nights, St. Patricks Day. Both me and my girlfriend really looked at her, and if not her, her twin. She is a rare delight for music lovers.

She has the ability to perform classical, traditional, as well as contemporary, and has the unique ability to blend them at times. Add a beautiful stage presence and lovely personality and you just can't go wrong. This interview was very early on with Celtic Woman. You may not call it dancing, Mairead, but we do. It's a combination of ballet, Irish step, and floor exercise in gymnastics. What you see on video doesn't even touch what you'll experience in a live show. She is a force all her own.

Mairead clearly loved every performance and brought joy to each moment that she was onstage. I love her and her music, both on Celtic Woman and solo.

Mairead, you are responsible for this 17 year old to pick up his old violin again and to start playing it again. i love how you play and how you really get into the music, it is so breath-taking and beautiful
@BandGeekSquadron17 жыл бұрын
the best of the best. no one, and i mean no one, can play as good as mairead. and i don't mean only skill, i mean emotion as well. like she said in the video, she really puts herself into the music. you can't ask her to give anymore, because she's already given everything.

It's so nice to hear Mairead's voice since naturally we never hear her sing. I could compare her to Holly Hunter's character in The Piano as someone who expresses herself through music.
@phantasma61617 жыл бұрын
she is my dad's fav. for the fact she never says a word, (like 3 words in the christmas concert i think) she really makes an impact. evry1 remembers her as the dancing fiddle girl. lol

I really believe that Mairead is not actually human. She is an Angel sent from above for the sole purpose of proving that angels really do exist! She is a miracle! If peace on Earth can be achieved, she will be the one to bring it forth!

An incredibly intelligent and talented woman. I doubt that many talented violinists could dance (or whatever Mairead may call it) while playing. It requires several degrees of coordination involving each hand, her feet and her body to come out right.

She's the best fiddler in all of Ireland meaning any genre.

@niskycat15 жыл бұрын
I think technically, a fiddler plays a lot closer to the finger board, usually in more dramatic motions, or a different style anyway; while a violinist will play more careful and delicately much of the time. Mostly to a non-fiddler/violinist it is based on sound. If you can think of folk tunes compared to classical or concert music, that is about the difference.

It's basically a song about a Mass Rock, where Catholics would meet for Mass while under the boot of the British, who disallowed the practice. Mairead's age is something she keeps a closely guarded secret, since men never get asked their age.
