@@conraderb It's live. Being a musician I get really picky myself, but listening to this I can hear all the little imperfections as they move and breath. So, yeah it's either live or they have one hell of a mixing/editing team.
@conraderb4 жыл бұрын
@@glrasshopper I think you aren’t giving this your full musical attention. Obvious giveaway at 3:43. Pure comedy that she is playing the fiddle. Is this standup comedy? She’s not moving her fingers. I can’t imagine any producer saying: “You two singers, sing perfectly live, but the lady will fake the fiddle.” That being said, overall, this is a much better sync than a lot of the other CW work, but look at: 0:51 touch - the plosive doesn’t match. You can tell the singer is trying to anticipate it. 2:08 tear drops looks sloppy to me. Overall, I see no musculature in their throats. It’s all too effortless. Yes, they have a great studio recording and massive amounts of money to conceal the lip-syncing. Imperfections? I hear basically no imperfections in their studio-recorded voices. What are you referring to? Pretty girls and a cool concept. I have no doubt they are singing in the studio, as a performance, this is smoke and mirrors. A performance, no doubt, but it ain’t no music concert.
@glrasshopper4 жыл бұрын
@@conraderb Events like this, the audio and video are captured separately and recombined in post from the multiple cameras and microphones. I expect there to be visual glitches occasionally if the post editor doesn't understand the intricacies of the instruments. Time codes will only cover a certain amount of ignorance when it comes to the editor picking the best visual. As a brass player, I rely on my ears. I have partook in and witnessed enough national stage and marching competitions to know the effects of movement on both breath control and intonation when I hear them. Either they allow their vocalists to prance around the recording studio or that was recorded on stage.
@conraderb4 жыл бұрын
@@glrasshopper I think you are being extraordinarily generous to the point of being anti-concert. Did you even watch 3:37 to 4:42 or so? It's so wrong, it's comedy. Show your violinist friends and they will tell that it's embarrassingly bad. The bow has stopped, but the music continues. How? B/c there is perfect sync except where they get caught. I'm a musician as a hobby, but pro photographer and I have done multi-cam video production. If the "C" camera is synced once, it's then sync for the entire, period, on most camera systems. You can slice and dice footage from cameras A-S, and the sync will stay. If you are familiar with the rest of the CW performance, you will see little cracks here and there. Overall, it is REALLY well done, and you shouldn't fault the video editor - you should credit them. Anyone listening - CW is a performance but not a live concert. Start at 3:37, and then slowly realize that it is all lip synched...

@@srujan00 from somewhere. Or was written by a songwriter from Cork, Jimmy MacCarthy. According to songfacts.com "MacCarthy explained on Radio Eireann in February 2010 that this song's lyrics hark back to his days as an apprentice jockey. When they first began training for races the younger horses would gallop behind the older horses. But as the younger horses developed, they needed the horses in front to go faster, so the jockeys would shout out "Ride On.""

Arcieres I believe 16 one or two is describing how high a horse is in hands. I think it’s roughly 4 inches a hand. The extra hight of one and two I’m not sure how that measures. Hands were an easy way of measuring livestock. Perhaps someone with more knowledge can chime in. I’m just wondering when she sang the eyes wild and green if she was talking about the horse with green eyes. Can horses have green eyes? I never seen it.
