If the Celtics play like they really want it every game… it’s over in 5. They are that good! Tatum, Brown & Smart have that heart/mentality you cannot teach. Other fans just keep 😴 You can put Batman & Big Al in there too.

The Celtics 1st quarter was like the Heats 3rd quarter in Game 1. Celtics only had 15 points with under 4 minutes. Ended the quarter with 35. Crazy...

@@blovkboyz fastbreak, Tatum driving Prichard side by side, Tatum takes it all. Tatum amazing, but he recognizing prichards hustle. Prichard later sets a screen, no look pass Tatum to Prichard boom, 3. Fastbreak, Prichard hustle to the ball, Tatum recognizes it, way out front, boom Prichard to Tatum. Heart rewards hustle, vice-versa.

People were calling me dumb for saying that smart and Robert are more important to the Celtics than Middleton was for the bucks yes Middleton is better on one end but on the other it changes the dynamic of the Celtics defense and no white to sub in to play defense tonight either it's just going to get worse from here

Impressive victory by the Celtics tonight vs. the Heat. Hope this means the Eastern Conference Finals will go 6 or 7 games. I am not a fan of either team, I just want an exciting matchup that will be competitive.

I'd say it's a 7 or 8 man team with 2 main 0layers as in can do it all then some 9f the best role players in nba history with smart playing his role of facilitator defensive beast Robert with being a rebounding and blocking machine with a few lobs and al just let Robert be able to cruise around near the paint then grant is 3 and d same with pritchard and white is just there to play defense and drive to the rim for lay ups

Smart gives this team such an emotional lift with everything he does on the floor. Always plays with tenacity, effort, and does all the small things to help a team win.

Yup. And Horford is a calming veteran presence. There were multiple times where you can see Horford motivating and reassuring Tatum and Brown. It’s these small details that help a great team become a championship team.

When celtics make the finals wouldn't be surprised if the NBA scripts the series has curry and the warriors lose to them think about it a historically racist franchise like the celtics slaying and destroyed a bunch of black stars in the finals is a recipe for views and money half the celtics fans are racist and white they will certainly enjoy that. I wouldn’t say it was excellent defense just being honest jimmy had 29 points. Jimmy butler is different type of player than most he waits is patient is selfless doesn’t force shots he can shoot over smart all day and if he pushed and outmuscled Williams the solid back up center and dunked it and grant Williams trust me smart can’t stop him just contain him and make it difficult for him that’s all you can do

Fact. If not for Robinson we wouldn't beat the Bucks in 2020 so Spo is so dumb to get him out of rotation. We already are lacking consistent star player on offense except Jimmy yet he took Robinson out of the rotation like wtf. Robinson atleast draws double team and attention unlike Strus. I know Strus is better defender but that's it.

I am not expecting them to hit 20 threes every game and besides its actually their defense the reason they made it to ECF. The celtics did not even use Smart and Horfords absence in Game 1. But let see how Heat responds. Celtics failed to defend homecourt for a couple of games against the bucks.

I told people if they can get past Brooklyn, legitimately there’s where they’ve taken a massive leap in the playoffs. Tatum dropped 50 last year without Brown and dominated Kyrie, KD & Harden winning their only playoff game & then this year when he dominated the matchups against the Nets, I was super intrigued that he would play with a chip on his shoulder soon as we (Celtic fans) found out they’d have to play Brooklyn in round 1.

Sorry to break it to Miami Heat fans, but Celtics have been the better team for 7 out of 8 quarters, including 1 disastrous/preventable one that costed a game. I think its very likely Boston protects home court to make it 3-1. I'll be somewhat surprised if it goes 6. This looks like a championship team, coming from a Lakers fan.

Marcus Smart's toughness and intensity has bled into this entire Celtics team. His physicality on defense is contagious and it makes the Celtics' opponents have to work a little harder to get quality shots. I believe other teams often look fatigued in the final minutes against the Celtics as a result.

@@robb317 you might be right. But the only way GSW wins the title against Boston is if the C's are totally outmatched. Steph is the greatest shooter of all time but I still dont trust him to be a closer in tight games. That's why they couldn't get it done in '16 and had to get KD. One thing they couldn't do against the celtics though is hunt someone on defense.

@@michaelconstantinemiranda2352 Poole/Wiggins are new editions that are doing quite well. in 16' they just dropped the ball when they should've won. For me the best shooter of all time is a toss up between Steph & Dirk although the slight edge probably goes to Steph, but Dirk is def the best 7ft shooter of all time. Dirk is more clutch for me than Steph. Dirk had the 2nd hardest shot to block in history only behind Kareem. He just never shot as much as Steph, 2 different positions. If Smart contains Steph then Boston has a fighting chance. Celtics match up better to GSW. Miami I think would lose in 5.

Boston guy here, grew up in the 80s with Bird & Magic; haven’t really been a fan of the game since Jordan retired, and I never really got into the Garnett/Allen/Pearce Celtics because it all felt, like, phony, in that they simply bought that title. But THIS team is so different, so much fun to watch, and very easy to root for!!! They’ve got me hooked!!!

Heat defense gambled on leaving the outside shots with soft defense and tonight, the 3s were falling for the Celtics. With a championship caliber coach like Spolestra, I think he is trying to get a feel on how far you can stretch Boston before they break. And Boston proved tonight that Heat needs to stretch themselves to stop them. Next game will be close.

Brandon Stanley Celtics players played like they did in middle school that is why very low IQ passing which led to PATHETIC 3rd Q and gave the lead and game away! Heat had 18-2 run in 3rd Q! It got worse! I was upset as they made the same dumb passes over and over again. Lazy passes behind the back passes etc! These are the kinds of passes you make in MIDDLE SCHOOL not the NBA! It was a disgrace honestly! Watch the way PP passes he makes smart hustle plays all the time. Loose balls taking smart shots making good passes even out rebounding guys a foot or more bigger than him. The rebound he got in the Bucks game 6 or 7 then passed it to Smart who hit the open 3 was a beautiful thing to watch! PP makes a huge impact in so many ways for the little time he plays! Ben Alebayo need to step up down the paint. Once Celtic got the 10 point lead it was over. Heat need to be a head or keep the game close. Tyler Hero should not be taking the ball down the other end. He doesn’t what to do with the ball all he wants to do is shoot 3s.

@@odomisan you would think a championship caliber coach would know this strategy doesn't work after it didn't work for the Bucks like 5 days ago. A lot of those threes were practice shots. If you're 10 feet away from a 40% 3 point shooter who is shooting in rhythm you're in trouble. After the trade deadline the Celtics were 2nd in the NBA in 3 point shooting at 39%. You can't leave them wide open.

Credit to the celts for coming out and beatin the f out of the heat. That 3 point shooting barrage was impressive especially when it was 9 for 11 from 3% it took the life out of heat team. Heat fan here!
