Love Tillmans defense and touch around the rim, only 25 and has room to improve. LFG ☘

One of the things Celtics fandom got weird about last year was trying to figure out which of Luke, Nemi, of X "didn't belong." They all belong, they all did contribute and will be asked to grow some more this year.

Tillman enables the double-big lineup in the same way as Horford does aswell, especially if he develops his 3p shot more. Big win!
@TheRobversion13 ай бұрын
agreed. IMO his best position is at the 4 over the 5.

I do think the contract lengths are a bit of a tell. X will specially enable a more versatile two-big line-up even when Horford is out. For Luke, I think this might very well be his last year in Boston unless something goes terribly wrong with both Neemy and X, and wouldn't be surprised if he's behind both in the rotation at some point this season.

He fit in well and claimed to be learning a lot from Al. Glad he’s back. Brissy the only guy left.

X and Queta are both born 1999, so they're the same age. Bit of a shocker when Queta feels 22 and X feels 32 lmao

Id love tillman to be an above average three point shooter but its hard to believe given his low career free throw %

Definitely can take over the 'Al's role" in a couple of years once his 3p shooting catches up. I imagine this is how Brad sold this minimum contract to him. And let's not forget that that our 2nd rounder this year also has the "future Al" potential to slot in right behind Tillman in a couple of years. Brad is really playing chess here. As for the last roster spot no need to bring back O'Shea imo. Walsh can play the herky-jerky defender role just as well and he has potential to be much more than that. I would rather bring Svi back. If Sam gets injured we are looking quite thin in the shooter wing department and Baylor/Drew likely aren't ready yet.

anton for sure has good potential. offensively, baylor is ready. ready enough to actually fight for a rotation spot. he's not going to get that though if his defense isnt adequate. but offensively? he's good. really good. like better than both pp and sam good. we'll confirm more of course in summer league. Brad shouldnt bring back brissy or svi. the roster is complete. just fill up that last 2W slot. no need to pay shit ton of toxes for a 15th man who will just sit on the bench and block baylor, anton and walsh's development. not signing the 15th man also give brad the option to duck under the 2nd apron by the trade deadline if he wanted to by dumping PP and expiring springer for picks. getting under the 2nd apron extends the window that this core can stay together by 1Y. and more importantly, masslive already reported that brad is keeping that 14th spot like he does usually every offseason as he likes the open spot for the buyout market/trade deadline. walsh can also take that shooter wing role if needed if his 3pt shot improves. his development is about turning into a 3ND player.

I am super excited about Baylor and I agree that talent wise he exceeds Hauser. Let'sjust hope he won't get destroyed too much on D. Offensively he may already be better than Svi.
@TheRobversion13 ай бұрын
@@tmkmdj offensively, hes better than hauser, sam or svi. The issue is defense. Hes at svi level based on my research and that wont fly with joe outside of garbage time or injuries. If he can get his defense up to PP levels, he'll start to challenge him for rotation mins or joe will be forced to expand the regular rotation to 9 players.

X man is a good player but he will never fill Horfords shoes Horford was an all star and great in college. And Horford is 38 and until Tillman shows me something I would take Al at 38 over him to guard anyone. When Horford was younger he was a beast on the block and then switched his game with the NBA and turned into a good 3 point shooter. Just think its silly when the media are saying he plays like Horford thats silly. I think once he is there for the preseason, he will look better kind of when White came from the Spurs and didn't look so good the rest of that year we traded for him and he turned into a beast. I think Tillman will help the Celtics but def not Horfords replacement I guess I could be totally wrong. Tillman played well with Memphis

@TheRobversion13 ай бұрын
the 2nd apron is a bitch and will break up this team like they did the others. it's inevitable. brad cant sustain more than 2-3Y in the 2nd apron. and thats not even counting losing those future first round picks 7Y down the road for being 2nd apron.
