Cem Olcay Note to be AUv3 Midi Quantise - Tutorial: Getting Started
apps.apple.com...
Take full control of your MIDI experience with Note to Be-the powerful iOS app designed to transform how you interact with your music. Whether you're working with a MIDI keyboard, sequencer, or MIDI CC input, Note to Be ensures your notes are perfectly quantized to the nearest selected note, allowing you to craft precise, harmonious compositions with ease.
Key Features:
- Customizable Note Selection: Choose individual notes from any octave, or apply your selection across the full -1 to +8 octave range.
- Octave Flexibility: Work within the entire octave spectrum, selecting and unselecting notes with a simple tap.
- MIDI CC Integration: Use MIDI CC from hardware controllers or apps like ShiftBud to convert control changes into quantized notes. Easily create chord voicings and dynamic live performances.
- Multi-Synth Support: Assign different MIDI channels to multiple synths, allowing each to respond to the quantized MIDI output independently.
- Live Performance Enhancement: Engage the 'all notes' toggle to instantly apply note selections across all octaves or quickly select notes in a specific key and scale.
With Note to Be, your music becomes a canvas, and every note is a brushstroke. Unlock new creative possibilities and refine your sound with the precision of MIDI quantization, right from your iOS device.
Note to Be is a MIDI app and does not produce any sound on its own. You need a MIDI input source and an audio output destination in order to work with Note to Be. The AUv3 plugin requires an AUv3 host app such as AUM, Logic Pro for iPad, Loopy Pro, Cubasis, Nanostudio, apeMatrix, Audiobus etc.
I hope you enjoy the tutorial and find it useful.

Nice creative application of this app. I also notice that on many of your tutorials that you take special care to tame the volume of some sound sources and kind of mix as you go . I on the other hand , rarely ever notice when the meters are too hot in the red until I record the audio and listen back in Audioshare. The wave form is pegged as if i used too much compression . Thanks to you I will be more vigilant about individual source levels.

I’ve been a subscriber for a while after finding these demos / tutorials and am slowly building up my Cem Oclay devices which is challenging at times on a retired income. I have a passion ambient and generative music and Leo’s presentations always give me more ideas not only for putzing around and experimenting; but, to add to my generative ambient collection. I may be a septuagenarian; but, I still like playing around with music (and LEGOs) to keep that old Intel 8080 in my head crunching along even if at a snail’s pace. Thanks for the Note to Be demo and ideas, Leo! 🧠 💥

Excellent demo as usual Leo! I like the remote key control for the quantized notes.. having the All button right there is super handy too.. watching this, I realize I don’t have PolyBud.. I now see how useful that is too.. please count me in for this one Leo.. Thanks..

Fantastic tutorial as always, Leo! You don't need another instance of PolyBud, you can create multiple tracks and assign their own MIDI channels on the settings menu on a single PolyBud instance :) You can also have a great fun with the MIDI CC quantization with LFO apps, I recommend that as well :) BTW I haven't encounter any stuck notes on the development but I'll check it again make sure of it on the first update! Thanks for the video 🙏

Thanks for the overview, Leo. 👍I wonder if this might be entertaining with a "play note" MIDI X-Y Pad going into it, to maybe achieve a melodic output that's still fairly chaotic.

Great demo. This inspired some ideas such as using Note 2B as a way to convert any MIDI note source into a fixed range, which would be great for something like Digistix 2 which will have a consistent MIDI note range for the drumkits, or a construction kit loaded up in BeatHawk, which generally uses the C1-D2 range. Could work great for Harmony Bloom, or Playbeat 3, or whatever. Thanks! (No drawing - I have the app).
