Hearing you talk about the Coleman stove brings back memories. Two years ago I hauled a mobile roller compacted concrete plant out to the Maritimes and got to stick around with the guys during the job. Scratched my head a good while watching the head operator grab a bowl full of aggregate and throw it in the microwave. Guys would periodically check their aggregate's moisture content to prevent for throwing too much water in the mix. Had a lot of fun helping out and translating for the two poor Frenchies stuck with Maritime engineers up their butts wanting to know what's what.

Pretty good as always. But definitely would be interested to see how you find out how many # per square foot and the lime vs cement debate on what and when to use it.

Does lime and Portland react the same way with the soil? How long does either last in the soil? Will they still be effective in 50 years or will the soil have washed it out or moved it around and start getting soft again?
@Sicktrickintuner2 жыл бұрын
I’m guessing from his videos, the quick lime reaction dries out the soil by using the moisture but can get sloppy again with time. Cement powder is a chemical reaction and hardening the soil that is treated and will stay that way probably a ton longer depending if there was enough cement put into it. Guessing though the lime is a bit cheaper and easier to get then the cement powder

@@Sicktrickintuner I just wonder if this is permanent solution of if your gonna build on this and it turns to slop and everything starts to fail on top of it.

Merry Christmas Charlie(and family) soil stabilization is so interesting (maybe not exciting like knocking over trees lol) but w/o it building roads/parking lots/ or buildings STOPS!! I have tried to e$Timate what it co$t just in equipment to do what your doing… as you know…it’s a LOT!

I am surprised the contractor didn’t pay for a mix design and tell you what they wanted instead of you doing the leg work. I have done hundreds of moisture tests. We tell the contractor what we want and then test to make sure they comply.

After I got the mix design th3 General Contactor wanted it , the testing company asked if they could get it and I said yes
