I’m trying to work out why 0:59-1:11 sounds so damn familiar to me. 0.o The first thing that comes to mind is that it sounds like a more upbeat version of the chorus from "How to Save a Life" by The Fray, but I doubt that was actually the inspiration. Also, if I’m not mistaken, that beat at the start is a slight variation of the Amen Break? ;-) I didn’t quite recognize it at first because of the arrangement, but rhythmically it seems to match up

Good ear! This one was also entirely coincidental, but indeed, it shares quite a lot of similarities with "How To Save A Life" unintentionally. And the Amen Break is also unintentional. Not much of a drummer, so when I need drum patterns I just kinda manually build them from the ground up by playing with patterns (visually) in the midi data. But a subconscious familiarity with the Amen Break pattern may be what led me to lay this version down and stick with it as sounding "good enough" to be used for this. Actually, this entire little mini-OST was a project with some self-placed limitations where I just kinda sat down and played things, and whatever stuck, I built upon. So little to nothing of these 5 tracks was really pre-planned or taking direct inspiration from anything (at least not with any conscious forethought). I just kinda made myself write the music and see what flowed out. Thanks again for listening!

Very interesting sound. You can still clearly hear "you" in there though, which is good!

Thanks! Definitely a bit of an experimental OST. I set some weird limitations for myself with working with these haha
