Excess Free lime will detect in Le-Chatelier test.
Excess Mgo will detect in Auto clave test Cao+H₂O = Ca(OH) ₂ Magnesia
Why is soundness test done for cement?
The ability of cement to retain its volume after it gets hardened is known as Soundness of Cement. That means the cement should be at minimum volume change after it gets hardened. The test conducted to identify the excess amount of lime in cement is known as soundness test of cement.
Le Chatelier Apparatus test is used to determine the presence of unburnt lime (CaO). The Cracks developed in the structure are mostly due to the unburnt lime because it increases the volume of the cement. Lime and magnesia also react with water and thus increase in volume occur in the cement.

What will be happen effect on cement Quality.. in this following conditions.... 1- if cement blaine is too higher & too low 2- if cement Residue is too higher &too low. 3- If gypsum Quantity increased & decreased of cement ( Flash & false settings of cement). 4- if cement mill outlet temperature too high & too low . 5-in chemistry point of view ,what is the Role of flyash & slag in cement ..

At our plant we usually observe high free lime if alumina modulus increases.. As alumina modules increases Flux.. Than y the free lime increasing.. If A.m is = 1.28 to 1.34. Free lime are ok.. But more than 1.35.. Free lime increase.. Can u explain..?
