FYI: Make sure to use refractory cement. When exposed directly to high amounts of heat, the moisture trapped inside regular concrete can expand and cause the concrete to crack and in extreme situations, explode.

@@cri1625 Are you talking about the circular rod he put around the center hole? These are reinforcements. Most cement structures have metal reinforcements, like a wire screen or mesh, or rebar or the like. ✌️

I d make a circular cement tray to catch the ashes with a lip all the way around the edge of the tray. Ashes falling below can blow away and start a fire easily.
