Horse was filling a role she was assigned, didn’t have any alternatives for something different, and fit well-enough to not really question it. She prides herself in being a warhorse because that’s all she knew. She also says she forgot how Bad things in the human world really were, at least one, maybe twice or more -I’d need to rewatch here- There’s also how the Human World literally doesn’t give anyone names. All they are is their Role (Horse, Rider, Woman, General.) It’s possible that The Woman may have had a name at some point but we’re never told it-and thematically Elktaur reduces her to toxic roles placed on women-Just Beauty, Just Objectifies, Placed On An Unatainable Pedestal. Elktaur never gives us his name, either-he envied Humans so much that he’s Just A Riftworker, Just a Centaur, Just a Beast(man). Finally: Horse’s identity crisis driving her to attempt suicide? Body-horror, yes, of what Centaurworld’s Magic was doing to her body against her will, but largely it’s being unable to be Rider’s Mount because of these changes (and Rider not recognizing her or even rejecting her)

And then _then_ we have the finale, which is probably one of the most beautiful series finale I have ever seen. So yeah... I think Glendale's part is a great summary of Centaurworld's whole feel. It's almost aggressively silly and zany, but it's also about incredibly deep feelings and truths. I feel like the core concept of Centaurworld is that it's okay to care about frivolous things, it's okay to get invested in something silly, you're allowed to deeply love and care for something that isn't taken serious by many people. The Nowhere King's cruelty begins when he discards Centaurworld like an embarassing childhood phase, setting him on the path to stop caring for almost anything. Horse begins her journey caring for almost nothing but Rider, but as she is taught to love things that are silly and wonky and colorful and stupid, she finds happiness and the power to save both worlds. Meaningful things can come in silly packages. Like a song that tells you it's fine to be scared and breathe in a bag, but truly lets you know that you're comforted and understood.

the way everyone’s songs were combined. the different take on all of them, in musical fashion the same songs are reworked and used beautifully . horses “we can all be fearless, too”. absolutely broke me. in the first episode, she was so war hardened and ready to get back to her old life, so rigid. here, her voice is so vulnerable and defeated, the thing she was fighting for the whole time is in front of her finally but she’s dying. god, just the way especially horses lines here were delivered have me sobbing . then glendale, and durpleton- who admittedly lightened the mood for me in this song- and zulius and ched- ched breaking through the enemies with the flower petals was so beautiful. and wammawink, my god- her and horses voices as the beginning of this were indescribably gorgeous. the somber tone of this songs start, and the slow buildup of everyone joining in. i’m no musician but this song moved me in a way beyond words. even without the context of this amazing show and the story portrayed in this song, the song itself is so fricking incredibly put together. this show is truly a masterpiece and more than just a silly kids show. some of the best music i have ever heard in my life comes from this show. and this song had me (someone who both doesn’t cry often, and is on meds that pretty much makes it impossible to cry) sobbing like a baby. centaurworld, you did it right.

Ched's part gets me tearing up every time! He sings it with such passion that I can feel just how badly he strived for it. And that explains why he was such a jerk to Horse! OMG he was so emotional wrecked by the horse-taurs rejection that he said middle finger to anyone baring resemblance. And Wammawinks part for this is my favorite. She's my favorite. The whisper singing she does, it's so low that you would need to be close to hear. Glendale is an icon. So much so that her self inspection and identification of her emotions and the causes is iconic. And her ability to see it in others and help them is why I love her part. She's reminding them, us, to breathe while all this chaos is going on around them! Absolutely beautiful. Durpleton is such a sweetheart. His part is just as vulnerable as he has been the whole series, and so polite! Zulius is definitely an enigma to me. I feel that his whole tragic backstory regarded how he and his best friend were torn apart over a competition. That things got too far. His feelings were hurt over the snub and either he doesn't recognize himself, or his friend. So his part I can't really say for sure, but I like it. Horse sings with the same vulnerability as her forest solo but with a touch of sadness at the sight of her family potentially dying in front of her. The one person she sought most in the world, who she feared to never see again most, was finally here for their after the war. Only they still had a war to fight. And she doesn't look like she'll make it. This loss is new to her, newer and more meaningful, because it's apparent that their parents and families died ages ago. Just like Wammawink. Only she had Rider to help cope, and being a horse I assume she was stabled and trained together with her or until her. Overall, I can't sing Ched's part without choking back tears. I sing Wammawink's even after it drowns out.. And Glendale is such a powerful voice!

knowing that glendale pretty much has 2 sides, making her feel less alone, whenever she gets stressed out, her voice gets more raspy, so when she speaks, either that side is always out, or shes constantly anxious! but in singing, sometimes she has a clearer voice, possibly hinting that singing makes her feel safer? like in this song!

Wammawink's greatest strength despite having to go into battle is her empathy. She lost her entire herd to war, had to learn and cultivate relationships all on her own. She's sensitive, codependent, clingy and overtly emotional and yet she has more strength than even horse combined. Why? Because war didn't turn her violent, bitter, and blood-thirsty. In spite of literally losing everything she loved, she never lost her softness, her compassion and her instinctual maternal need to keep the fragile things safe. The reprise of 'Fragile Things' comes full circle because no matter what, she'll have their backs. She'll have everyone's back because that's just the way she is.

My absolut favorite song of the whole show. Simply love it. Also, I read people deceived by the healing of Rider. It made sense to me that she could not die. The whole show is built around the idea of the second chance to reveal and live by the true version of yourself. She was hurt because of an error of judgement and the song came too close for her death to be possible and meaningful. I am not thrilled by the easy happy end but I don't think that her death would have bring anything to the story. The only necessary was The Nowhere King's and she was not bound enough to him for that for what I perceived. It remains my personnal opinion and perception of that show. I am so glad for it.

I love this whole scene. wammawink gets to make sure that she doesn't loose her herd again and protects her family like she wished she could have during the war. glendale finds a way to help others through their anxiety and work through her own anxieties in a healthy way. Durpleton doesn't let the cycle of abuse continue itself and id sure to be the kind of father his never was even while on the battlefield. Zulius realizes that he doesn't need to dwell on the past and be petty, because that will sabotage whatever good relationships he has. In a ridiculously anime esque moment Ched achieves his childhood dream on the battlefield and realizes that dreams can come true. And that he doesn't need to give up. And horse gets a moment where she can truly let down all of her barriers and express her grief.

I'm here to vent. This song has made me tear up. Cause like, rip Rider may she forever remain in our hearts. And I thought it was fantastic that they are using the Rider's lullaby as a goodbye song. But what happens in the next act?? Rider is UP AND ALIVE. Like what the hell??? What did I cry for? It just feels like betrayal, that I cried, and a cheap trick of "oh um yeah she NEARLY died, haha, we deffo did not show the scene of her going limp right in Horse's arms/front legs!" Although I still love Centaurworld with all my heart and soul, but that ending was CHEAP!!

Good to know I'm not the only one on this. You can't just make an emotional moment with Rider dying while horse is holding her, only to show her alive and well in the next scene. it makes the whole thing pointless.
@acecadet25873 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the emotional moment with Rider felt drawn out, saccharine and overblown considering she just pops up at the end like nothing is wrong. Rider is a badass, but don't spend 5 minutes on potential death

I was SO DISSAPOINTED when this happened. We were so sure that Horse and Rider had been a centaur at one point - which would have explained why and how Horse recognised the Nowhere King's lullaby and why neither had proper names. It would have been such an amazing juxtaposition between Horse/Rider and Elk/The General. The Elk and General hating one another, the Gatekeeper wanting to split his beast and human parts - Horse and Rider loving each other and working together/searching high and low for one another. I feel like it would have also helped expand on the somewhat weak relationship building, we were mostly told they were friends/family as opposed to shown.

@@die-sas7462 same here. Turning Horse and Rider into a single centaur would be cool, but that would mean losing Horse's voice and Rider's expressions

@@twist_ending7545 It would also mean losing two characters in exchange for a composite character who'd never been shown before & wouldn't have enough screen time to be interesting enough.
