This video shows how to calculate the centroid, the moments, and the center of mass or center of gravity using integral calculus. This is an important topic in calculus 2. The center of mass is the same as the center of gravity. So what is the center of gravity exactly? If you have a book, try to balance it on one finger at a 90 degree angle. There is a point that will allow the book to be balanced, and that is called the center of mass. If you are given another arbitrary shape, then the center of mass is called the centroid. I go through many examples and I provided the centroid formulas in the video. I also show how to calculate the moment or moments of the system about the x axis and the moment of the system about the y axis given the density.
