This center is working as new for 10 years already. I have connected a Samsung G. Tab with Spotify player through AUX IN and I can listen to any music I want. Very reliable device! It does not have optical or video input, but it is possible to connect it to TV with 3.5 mm jack.

@rhys0303 Check your speaker cable lines. Mine does the same thing, Sony MHC-GX355. The speaker cable lines can short sometimes, and they do this when bass goes through, as the current is stronger or something.

Looks like this is technical issue. Try to use AUDIO IN to check that system turns off from all devices CD,tuner, audio in. Reset system to factory settings: 1.disconnect and reconnect power cord. turn on system. 2. press buttons: Stop , >II Playpause, and disc 1 at the same time (on system , not remote)

Do u rekon u could help me, I've got the same system, BUT when ever i pump up a song that is even moderately 'bassey' it just turns off. I have no idea why and i pisses me off, no bass techno for me. :( Reply ASAP PLEASE

I have the MHC-RG290...How do you take apart the front face of the speakers?...i just want to get in and install a wall mounting system for each speaker but in order for that to happen i need to get in...plus i want to clean it inside...have/had that for years...still going to have it(optimistic)...Thank you...

+danwithjesus It's not possible to open front panel. You need to have Sony screwdriver. I tried with Torx T30 and it fits almost, but bolts are not moving and they are made from soft aluminuim. so you will probably destroy all bolts.

CenterionXL I know is not possible to open the front panel via those plastic screws(yea, plastic...not aluminium)...my question is how you take it apart without breaking?...i would do it long ago if i wanted to break it...Thank you for your reply.

Yes, system is loud, but it does not "shake the walls". Bass is not powerfull. I would say it plays from 50 HZ-60 HZ.
