Central ITV - Continuity - Closedown - 7-8-86

From the early hours of Thursday August 7 1986, Central close down with their wonderful sleepy village film, with all the lights in the dwellings slowly switching off.
Then the text fest that is Jobfinder with a good attempt at making a round logo out of low-res squares. Interesting (for me, anyway) to note that the ILR logo slide is national.

Some ILR stations on the slide (which indeed looks quite old for 1986) were gone by then - Gwent Broadcasting ("GB") and CBC had merged to become Red Dragon, ditto Radio West and Wiltshire Radio to become GWR (and from there ...) By the end of Central closedowns the following year, they were also plugging GWR which overlapped with their region in Swindon. Marvellous stuff, of course. I've always loved that closedown sequence - though a far cry from the Bull Ring ...
