Central Line Education: Showering with a Line

Having a child who has a central line can create a lot of questions for parents, and maybe even some apprehension. In this video, Children’s Hospital Colorado shows parents how they can cover their child’s central line for showering or bathing at home.

Thank you for this video. I have to do it and it's so difficult. Might just have to wrap up in the press n seal because my aqua guard definitely comes off every time. Even with taping it.

Well, this doesn’t work well for me. I need a butt ton of press n’ seal and then a load of foam tape stretched vertically over my chest and back. That usually works, but sometimes even that doesn’t keep it fully dry. I do get a dressing change afterwards regardless, though.

I feel sorry for any person, especially a child, that has to go through all this trouble just to afford the dignity of daily hygiene.
