Central Saint Martins fashion design students on The Troubled Fashion Industry

This is the the first video of a short series, where Central Saint Martins students address the issues within the fashion industry and try to provide viable solutions to these problems. The main topic of discussion in the first episode is the unethical and almost unsustainable way people are treated during internships and work experience.

I love that some of them mentioned how ridiculous industry had become, because it's so money driven. Everyone knows fast fashion isn't sustainable but how many people realise that luxury fashion isn't either? Everyone knows that as young fashion designer, intern you're in a creative job, but how many people realise that your (unpaid usually) internship has double or next to triple the hours that usually other students have? Or how many people realise that you pay huge tuition to art univerities and they don't provide basic stuff like pattern cutting or some basic materials. You have to fund your graduate collection too and when you get a job they don't wanna pay you as long as possible like one girl mentioned.
