Saturday 1st August 1987 on Central. YTV February 1986, TVS November 1986. Ulster would have been last, around Oct/Nov 1990.

This seems to be exactly how I remember seeing this episode on Tyne Tees in early 1989. Strange that they left in Promedica and Gilbert Broadway which are both businesses. I like the slowed down Grundy/10/(c) 1979 end of ep 4 to allow the full turns to play.

I think the last time ITV did the slowed down outside shot of Wentworth with the Grundy/0-Ten/1979 credits was episode 54. A shame, as it was nice to hear the full theme!

@@pak8606 Hi, apologies I’m not getting the notifications for replies for some reason, so I’ve only just picked this up. 🙁 I suspect that once ITV realised that they had to excise the sponsor credits (Travelodge, Ansett, etc), a package was put together where each ITV station showed the same edited version of the programme. I remember watching Lizzie’s birthday on Anglia having watched it originally on Central and the end credits were edited in exactly the same way. Thanks for the heads up with the TVS promo of episode 22 - as it was 1986, I wonder if they showed the end credits intact?

@@jezt42 They may well have, I believe YTV did who started first. I'm not sure whether TSW (started Prisoner Jan 87) would have or whether Central or Thames (June 87) did. Lizzie's birthday was ep 134 which was on Central 6 March 1988, Anglia probably late April/early May 1989.

@pak8606 134 was the 1988 cliffhanger on YTV. In late 88 from around 125-134 YTv created ads for Prisoner and they made 134 look like a Xmas episode as they focused on the party for Lizzie with the announcer saying “it’s celebration time this week in Cell Block H” I think the only time I ever saw some type of preview of an episode on YTv again was around Feb 1989 when they had a few seconds of Doreen’s abd Kevin chatting in the interview room when they were advertising the Monday night schedule. Later in 89 a scene involving Colette Mann and Patsy King would appear on YTV’s Calendar news show as Patsy and Elspeth were appearing in the stage show in Leeds. Typically of YTV the week when the stage show was in Leeds I believe was a week when YTV had no episode. They could have at least found a scene with Patsy and Elspeth rather than with Colette. In 1990 on This Morning, Granada had Fiona Spence appear on the show and they used a scene from one of their recent eps with Lizzie and Vera in the staff room just around the time of Sids death. Most viewers would have no idea who Sid was. Anglia/YTV/HTV/STV viewers will have probably had the Sud story spoiled due to Granada’s clip.
