Centreless (Centerless) Grinding Principle

Great vid, thank you. Been c-less grinder for quite a while now. I know there are a lot of factors to make part round: speed, coolant, rest blade height. My question is what should be part height for the roundness? I know the work piece center should be higher than the reg wheel and grinding, but is there a formula to be exact?

As long as it’s less than .5” go too high with it and the workpiece will want to chatter and lift out of the machine depends on how heavy the part is too

Anybody else know if moving the regulating head angle back and forth to keep the wheels consistent correct? My work has no idea how to run it and the guy who trained me retired now I can’t explain why I do this

I want to know the same thing, at my workplace the piece keeps getting small and I have to open the regulating wheel every 8-10 piece!! The stupid operator/trainee says it’s ok but I think it’s pathetic that the machine can’t run consistently.
