Small centrifuge that spins at 2800 rpm. Take the cloths from the washer already squeezed and put in layers in this kind of cylinder drum. Once filled it shall be run for 3-5 minutes and all the superfluous water comes out again. At that point, the cloths is slightly damp, lying on a drying rack, outside or inside in a very short time they will be completely dry.

I would've thrown dry cardboard in the background for better spatter results to see the effects of the centrifuge, in other words to see how much water it removing. Although, your jeans accumulated quite a bit of water, it's still a nice project indeed. I would've never thought of an external centrifuge drum as an idea but it makes perfect sense, especially since my wife prefers hanging clothes out to dry. Thanks for the ideal project considering I found a t.v. fresnel lense that I'm considering using with solar power to power up my version of a high speed magnetic homopolar motor.

By the way. The small ones are rated for 4.5 kg dry material at 2800 rpms. Sir Isaac Newton explained to me that if that thing flies off and hits you, the energy is about equal to a midsized car at 40mph. Except for other centrifuges, the only other situation where that much inertial force is exerted is in space. A typical 1600 rpms washing machine achieves 11g's. It would still be cool to get Steve O to sit in a scaled up one. Hello I'm Steve O and this is as the world turns. 😅😅😅

I wouldn't have had the guts to do this. Be very careful when your dealing with those speeds, well if it hits you you might be missing a limb! Otherwise pretty cool to see this. Centrifuge waterheaters work on a similar principle, using the force to turn water into high pressure vapor, rapidly heating.

@elpolog.7163
@elpolog.7163 5 жыл бұрын
In fact, you are right to some extent (2000 rpm washing machines reach comparable peripheral speeds), but what is important is not the peripheral speed, it is the centripetal acceleration, which is proportionnal to the angular speed squared. Therefore, if you divide the radius by x and multiply the angular speed by x, you will still have the same peripheral speed, but you will end up having a centripetal acceleration that is x times higher. That is the point of a spin dryer ;)

The drum cannot get out of control because of the high rpm. That why the 5 kg limit so it can reach the speed with a out of balance drum. It only gets out of control when it stays on a low rpm. The motor is not powerfull enough to accelerate the drum if its not in balance.
