I think wg takes into account (or used to years ago) the quality of the tank's sight and rangefinder to tweak tanks with the exact same gun. Although nowadays only thing tgat matters for wg is how they are goong to milk your wallet

@@grafzauberer6867 But was it always like that? Wargaming has arbitrarily changed module names in the past while buffing vehicles. For example, when the Tiger II received its buffs Wargaming changed the name of its turret so that the VK 45.02 A did not also receive the same buffs. They also changed the name of the IS-4's stock gun when they decided to buff it a few years back. Prior to those changes it shared a name and stats with the IS-1's D-25T back at Tier VII. My point is that Wargaming doesn't really care about historical modules (including guns) or their designations. They will quite happily change either on a whim if that change suites their purpose. So whether two guns share names or not has no bearing at all on their stats.

Unfortunate but same i get hyped to tier x when I'm playing with cent 7/1 (one of the best med, i think) but it was actually so bad compared to t9 and now it feels still same even i liked the gun Bec armor is paper even hull down(while T9 can play hull down easily)

I'm old enough to remember when this used to be the FV4202. I just feel like that was a much more competitive tank than then the Cent. They need to buff the turret armour of the Cent in my opinion. Not to make it another 430U, but it needs to be able to reliably bounce at least some rounds. I think the FV also used to be quite a bit shorter than the Cent, so a harder tank to hit.

WG changed the sound of the cent 1 and fv4202 gun. I 2 marked the cent 1 but stopped playing it and the fv when they nerfed the sound. It just sounds like wet pants now

I agree 100%. I much preferred the FV4202 as a T10. It was shorter, and it felt faster, more responsive, more nimble. The Cent AX just feels so tall, the cupola is even larger than the FVs was, the gun sucked. Just everything felt wrong compared to the FV4202 T10. The turret had better angles or something because it would bounce about 25-33% of the incoming shots, when working a ridge line. The Cent can NOT work a ridge line worth a damn compared to the old FV4202. I played any a handful of games when the gave us thatPOS, and just only played the T9, and worked on my Leo’s lols. I would ask why WG never gives any love to western tanks (comparable to the amount of love they give Russian/Soviet tanks), but we already know the answer to that question. CAX, butter front against any ammo spam. Really quite amazing how even with full gun depression the turret offers meagre protection compared to the magical deflector shields even Russian lower tier mediums have.

Idk if it's on PC, but the centurion AVRE just came out on console not long ago in the battle pass and I hate that fucking tank. It's pretty much centurion tier 10 with a plow on the front and a deathstars gun that will one shot everyone. It's stupid.

The patton needs an armour buff, it's so slow yet doesn't seem to hold up in a brawl. The gun handling is great though

The Patton still outclasses this POS. You can actually reliably hit what you aim at, and despite the armor being worse on paper, you dont have an ammo rack for a driver.

They buffed the wrong things in my opinion, once you get past the tier 8 , your turret remains the same, and gets shredded by heat. I think if wg kept the forehead weakspot against heat but made the frontal mantle like 350 effective then it would be in a much better position.

Agree games are far more fun and engaging when the match maker creates a balanced game. It is depressing to play game after game of ten to zero, eleven to zero, etc scores. The match maker is crap in random battle games. If War Gaming fixed the match maker I know a lot of players that have quit that would come back to the game.

It's not shit anymore, it's decent now. The HESH shells are very competitive and 4k DPM can work. The turret armor and the hull will be penetrated any day, anmorack is just too fragile but the gun is literally 29-33% better.

Of course the best tank gun of it's time, the RO L7 being British is down played by the Ruskies who staff WG, especially on a British tank. Of course in reality, usually one penetrating hit is the end for the tank. It would be far better in the game if the hit probability actually reflected reality, taking into account propellant variation and shot tolerances rather than some notional value at the will of some biased persons. Ultimately this dishonesty will be the downfall Of WoT, because people will get fed up and stop playing.

The Cent AX isn't user friendly unless there's a few tier 8's running around but even then the armor is like paper. I just don't think this is worth playing. Too frustrating, fast garage, the gun is a mess - you need the aiming equipment and that takes away from other more useful equipment. You have to poke and shoot like whack-a-mole

Did you guys notice they made a small change to the minimap? When tanks are getting closer to the right border of the map, the name will switch from being on the right side of the tank's icon to the left, so it's still readable. I think that if Wargaming were really serious about buffing the Action X, they would have given it thicker turret armor, since its main weakness is the fact that it can't actually assume hull down positions against same tiered or even lower-tiered opponents because of 300 pen HEAT rounds that go straight through the turret-front. To those who fear that it would become too powerful if that happened: The Action X would still have a huge profile, poor hull armor, and an ammo rack for the driver to rest their feet on. It would still be far weaker than something like the Chieftain.

​@@oscarovegren The E 50 M is a great brawler because it can ram almost anything and has a _very_ strong upper plate. The Centurion has *neither* of those things. It doesn't weight that much relative to its size and every time it gets shot through the front there's a strong chance it will have its ammunition rack damaged. It also has worse acceleration than the E 50 M. Being able to hull down is sort of the *_entire_* design philosophy behind the Centurion line of vehicles. If it can't do that, it's next to worthless. If it received a stronger turret, it'd still be a much worse brawler than the E 50 M for all of the reasons I've stated in this and my last post. Giving it 15-20 mm of extra armor, which would still make it vulnerable to some Tier X and IX _standard_ rounds is hardly the worst thing that could happen to it. As it stands, the Centurion 7/1 has a better turret than the Action X, because it has a gun mantlet, which can resist some HEAT rounds. In fact, the E 50 M (even before its buff) had an arguably better turret than the Action X, because it _also_ has a gun mantlet, and much of its turret front is covered by it. The Action X's turret front on the other hand, has nothing, and is almost completely flat, which means that HEAT rounds have a very easy time getting through it.

You can't add a better turret on top of that too in comparison to E50M. In the current state they are more or less balanced. Add a stronger turret means nerfing something else instead.

@@oscarovegren Yes, you most certainly can add a better turret and not have to change anything else on it or any other vehicles. Being a giant blob with no armor is a *_significant_* disadvantage. The ability to resist enemy fire is one of the best characteristics a tank can have. It's why vehicles like the Chieftain and Object 140 are so strong. They can find a position, hide their hulls, and shimmy back and forth to make their tiny cupolas difficult to hit. That capability means that they can quite comfortably sit in front of people and fire their guns every time they are loaded, which gives them a massive DPM advantage over tanks that have to hide from enemy fire. Now, I'm not saying that the Action X would be like that if it had a stronger turret. It would still have a flat turret face (which would make it weaker against HEAT and APCR), it would still have a giant unarmored hull (which would limit the positions it could use while also hiding its chassis), and it would still be an artillery magnet (because of how tall and wide it is). The Action X could have a *400 mm* thick turret and it would _still_ not be as broken as some other hull-down medium/heavy tanks simply because of how huge and thinly armored its body is. I am not asking for 400 mm however. I am asking for _20 mm_ of extra armor, so that at least *STANDARD* rounds from Tier IXs and Xs don't go straight through the turret face, because they do. If you run into an Object 140, 430, or _any_ of the Soviet heavies in a hull down position, you *_just_* lose, because all _they_ have to do is press the 2 key and fire HEAT through the front of your turret. All _you_ can do is try to snipe their centimeter-tall cupolas. You can't outflank them, because you're huge with no camo and armor, and you can't try to hit their hulls because of how low to the ground they are. You *just* lose.

I had terrible games with the Progetto today, they have killed the gun handling, you have to use Bond vert stab to get it back to what is was, now I had to loose improved aiming to take that and I'm missing everything 🙄, the hull armour is trash now, everyone can pen you even with auto aim, I can see it dropping down to a 47% Win rate tank, it was 11th in class on damage done before but I can see it being a lot worse.

1st game is a victim of WG sigma nerf, RNG decided your team would lose, so when you roll accuracy its worse, when you roll damage, its low, when you roll pen, its minimum. WG has this BS algo active once it decides on average, players on your team is winning too often, it skews to a loss to even out give enemy team a better chance.

Tier 9 got this same buff except DPM. That gun is already in the Charioteer, it would be insanely good if it received DPM buff but still the gun handling was the parameter where it struggled. I'm seriously considering rebuking that tier 9.

I’ve never played this tank. Isnt that weak armor is bring lot of problems with it? You can still penetratable with all gold shells :( In the game there are some tanks that if you dont play it yourself but just play against it, it looks like garbage such as Maus, e100, e50m. However when you play it they feels amazing.( due to weak armor and bad player base who dont know how to play tanks) is cent ax are like these tanks?

The turret armor isn't the best. It has about 250-260 mm at most, so occasionally you will bounce some tier 8-9 tanks but forget about using the gun depression in tier 10. It's a more nimble version of the M48 Patton but not by much. However, with this buff, there's no reason to play the Patton now. It's at a level of being a more armored Leopard that can run at 52-55 km/h. Keep in mind that HEAT will shred this turret like butter.

Weak armor is completely problem for cent ax , overall British mediums has characteristics like : good Dpm , good mobility , very good ammo types to shoot and gun depression for hull down position with armor also some camo for sniping. But unfortunate cent ax do not have any armor and camo (Bec of profile of tank) that means you will usually open target for enemies even while you are using full gun depression. That's why still it doesn't feel like British medium , it feels like leopardish tank with worse stats.

How would you compare this to the M48 Patton? On paper it seems to be better in almost all aspects aside from armor.
