When I went to the tackle shop to look for new rods, my friend (and owner of the tackle shop) said "I only have 1 rod that will hold up to how you fish". He handed me the Nor' easter. I'm a fisherman from NE U.S. islands; and I will admit that I am incredibly hard on my equipment. Basic criteria for my gear is: it must all be submersible, able to handle abrasion, and doesn't take a long time to maintain. I paired the Nor' Eastern with a VR175, and 40lb. braided line. I've never experienced more perfect action with a rod I've owned. I get much more cast distance, and can still feel every bump, seaweed, etc... My first fish caught was a 33.5lb striped bass. You can feel the difference with these rods, you really have to try it to see. I consider the price tag a high-dollar item in comparison to some of my other setups, but after using it for a while, I can honestly say that for the first time, I feel like I have everything I need from the tackle shop. So well worth it.

It’s a great rod. I own one. It’s got a great action, a little more moderate than most moderate fast rated rods. It’s great for eels, metal lips, bucktails, darters...it throws the entire super strike line up fine, and will handle the biggest gibbs metal lips.

Hey ryan can you the oficial price find this rod is? On the surcasters journal video you said 485 and that it was a big tjing to keep it under 500 but on the advanced fishing website it says upwards if 514 for the ten footer and 555 for the eleven!?
