@Betonoszlop -- dude I had no idea. I had only gotten into Borknagar through Winter Thrice, then Universal, and was hooked when I heard about the new album. But even though I had been a fan of Arcturus and Dimmu Borgir, I had no idea Vortex was in Borknagar (ok: again) as well. So this full dose of Arcturus extravaganza in Up North got me like "the fuck?". Awesome though. I guess on Winter Thrice, their keyboarder was more prevalent with his softer voice? I am only now beginning to distinguish between them.
@divinefallfromgrace5 жыл бұрын
@@MensHominis Dudo, Borknagar have 4 different singers- Vortex, Lazare, Garm , and Wintersorg. They only appear in certain eras/albums, as each mostly has another project or 2 to work on. This song is simply amazing, a joyful and elevating musical trip. This is probably my favorite Borknagar song ever. I have been listening to Borknagar since 2000, when they released Quintessence. Colossus and The Stellar Dome ranked as my favorite songs, but I think Up North might top those. I find it extremely remarkable that after 25+ years as a band, Borknagar is pretty much in their prime, releasing songs as good as or even better than the past ones. There are very few and rare metal bands (or musicians in general) that we could say the same.
