It's really just practice, both in the lab and with others. You don't need to play super intensely. Like, you don't even need to play everyday. A big key aspect in any fighting game is the neutral game. Essentially, once you get comfortable enough with your combos, start actually thinking about when to go in, what you anticipate your opponent to do, when to back off, etc. And if you look at videos or something, there's 2 things to look for: what a player does, and what a player doesn't do.

Nairo should've went Dark Pit. I understand his choice to stay as Zamus but still. I think Dark Pit could've applied some serious pressure on Shiek with arrows, grabs, up smashes, and side b. Also neutral air could've been a great pressure option to keep Shiek away in Dream Land. But that's just my opinion.

Great set. Nairo's problem was landing, which is understandable. Against a good player, you have 3 landing options: hit their shield with high knockback, use a command grab, or fast fall and grab. Any other options, such as mixed up di and using up b to get distance, leave you vulnerable fight afterwards, depending on the character. Against a player like zero, I could see how nairo was put in this situation multiple times, and I think that is the main way to victory for him in the future.

Hitting sheild w/ high knock back is not enough. ZeRo can perfect pivot into a smash if that happens.

Hydron Seed the grab would be from conditioning with nairs, which he already did a little too much in the fight. Since zss has a long grab range, nairo could change di just before landing and get a grab assuming zero doesn't spot dodge.

ZeRo is on the ground. He can hit Nairo more easily. + Nairo used n-air a lot to remove luma and pressure shield at the same time.

Hydron Seed unfortunately that's true, since sheik has pressure and spacing in the air and on the ground. The only other way nairo could get a grab is from reading a tech/approach or taking advantage of a grounded spacing option such as f tilt.

rubberwoody but even when you tether jump you still only get to use your double jump and that's it, he used a regular jump animation and then a double jump animation after that, i don't think i've ever seen someone use a regular jump animation in the air that wasn't a double jump with the little circle below it also i don't think you can footstool someone who's in their shield, there wasn't any footstool animation/sound either

Barsee23 The footstool animation isn't programmed to activate on a shielded opponent, but you still jump off of them when you do it. Go ahead and try it in training mode.

Such a tough matchup for ZSS in the neutral. Nairo likes to bait with empty hops to get Zero to approach , then Nairo zones with fair or zair, trying to get a hit-confirm. But Zero is content with camping with needles while Nairo baits with empty hops, resulting in Zero getting free damage. Nairo then is forced to approach. I think Nairo just has to rundown on Zero's Sheik, and try to beat his reaction time.

I feel so salty everytime I watch this set. I wanted Nairo to win so bad. Nairo is really close to ZeRo's level, but he's not there yet. It would take more effort because he uses ZSS. Sheik is a better character than ZSS, I think Nairo would've had a better chance if he used/main Sheik. I'm saying this because Nairo got REALLY good when he started using high tier characters. I think that happened in brawl as well when he started using MetaKnight. I don't know much about competitive brawl so correct me if I'm wrong

ZSS has no way to crack defense without her high risk grab and Zero exploited that to no end in the GF set, sitting in shield a lot while Nairo was scrambling all over for any type of hit. Nairo needs to pick a strong character with a real grab if he wants to stand a chance, because let's be real everyone can practice hard, but Zero is practicing just as hard if not more because he actually plays smash exclusively as a profession right now, unlike most others who are playing it on the side.

In a game as balanced as Smash 4, it really is. Take Mr.R vs Ally Mario. An unlikely turn around with Ryu was had. If you're really gonna talk trash, talk about shulk and rosalina players that insist on using lazy tactics to win. Not that those characters are overpowered. They are examples of characters with moves that are easy to damage with, at least for rookies. Players like this make the game look bad. They are everywhere, and they can easily be stopped if only people would run their mind instead of running their mouth.
