1, Cloud not only can end those stocks at 33% with Finishing Touch, or Limit Cross Slash. 2, Fox's Up Air has a MUCH SMALLER hitbox and duration. You literally cannot escape Cloud UpAirs optimally without platforms, due to the speed, length, power, and size of the move. 3, Cloud is just generally overpowered. Most range in the game, best shorthop, two best spikes, one of the best combo games, kill power, edge guarding, and the mobility and speed to not only chase down campers, but to outcamp using Limit. Logically, Cloud is the Meta Knight, or Fox of Sm4sh, but sadly, all the players who are low enough to main him, suck.

Implies M2K sucks, hilarious. Let's dissect your scrub crying. 1. Neither of those options kill that early. Finishing Touch isn't even a threat until 60%, and Limit Cross Slash will only kill early if Cloud goes deep off-stage to catch someone's recovery, and that's not safe for him considering his extremely poor recovery without Limit. 2. The hitboxes on Fox's Uair are still very good, and it's far better at sealing stocks than Cloud's, especially since Fox can actually confirm into his Uair for KOs with Utilt or another Uair. Cloud can only truly juggle with it if the opponent is at low percent and he's able to autocancel the attack, otherwise it has too much endlag to try double jumping up to people. 3. Shulk has the best range and coverage with his attacks in the game. Hell, Ryu has better hitboxes than Cloud on quite a few attacks; Sheik has the best short hop, though Cloud matches it when Limit is active; having two spikes really doesn't matter when one of them is very slow and not easy to space, the other has better utility on stage, and his bad recovery makes going for them risky; he really doesn't have that many true combos, just good frame traps. Honestly, if you're letting Cloud hit you more than three times in one juggle, then you're just getting outplayed; he has good KO power, but his only reliable KO option in most cases is Limit Cross Slash and Bair. Fsmash is too slow, Usmash too weak, Dsmash only destroys bad recoveries or bad ledge play, Finishing Touch is too slow and situational, Limit Blade Beam is just bad; Limit Climbhazard is only good OOS, Fair is too slow, Uair too weak and better for juggling, Dair too risky, tilts too weak; Many characters can edge guard much better than Cloud, he shouldn't be edge guarding and thus giving up stage control often because of his bad recovery. Only thing you're actually right about so far is his advantage against camping tactics with Limit. TL;DR Cloud is really not that bad, and he has the lack of results to prove it. The only reason you ever see him is because he's easy to pick up and his match-up spread is good, but he has enough weaknesses to keep people from actually maining him, and other characters are just better. You're wrong on almost every point, and he doesn't come close to Brawl Meta Knight or Melee Fox. I don't say this often, but git gud and quit crying like a scrub.

Maximous Prime I think in my experience I find that I SD a lot easier with him because of his insane momentum and fall speed. But that's mostly because I'm garbage. But he does have the potential to go ham off the edge and then die easily because of his momentum. But when played well he can wreck people. He's hella fast and strong.

I.e. everyone knows the fox or falco matchup against their main but the fox/falco player may not have any experience against low tiers. Dj Nintendo vs Unknown is a clear example of that. Be that as it may it doesn't change the fact that the matchup is heavily in favor of high tiers when it comes to melee. A decade of meta proves that. Whereas smash 4 only has a year, and any character that's too far beyond the rest of the cast gets the nerf hammer hard. So youre left with a bunch of characters that 'ok' with very few characters that are flat out superior.

If you're saying that you like the undeveloped meta of Smash 4 and find it exciting for low tiers to have a chance at winning tournaments, then you and I have different tastes because when you don't have a legitimate tier list that separates who's good and who's bad, that falls under skill gap compression which is bad for a strong competitive scene. And on the note of practicing only for Fox/Falco, you are forgetting about Marth the anti-spacey, Shiek the combo wizard, Puff the x-factor, Samus the Nightmare of Leffen, etc. nearly half of Melee's roster is viable and able to reach top 8 at a major.

DFed324 No im saying that the difference between top tier and mid tier in smash 4 isn't big.Even if the top tier player knows the matchup the 'mid tier' still has a viable chance at winning, whereas in melee it's made clear how far ahead top tiers are from the rest of the cast, and if a person is playing top tiers you're chances of winning (whether they know the matchup or not) is miniscule(again the only caveat is spacies which i try to explain below). I'm saying everyone practices the spacie matchup since spaces are the most popular character in competitive melee. As a result low tier mains run into spaces more often than not and by extension know the matchup inside and out. On the flipside the fox/falco main isn't gonna know the intricacies that are necessary against let's say a bowser (up throw up air doesn't work at all for example) and as a result will lose solely due to a lack of knowledge, and their character being combo food. A puff main however doesn't really need to know the matchup to win via wall of pain or rest. Ya get me? So outside of those who main the spacies if you're playing top tier you already have a disportionately huge advantage against the rest of the cast.
