The performance drawback is minimal when you’re blasting on a water tank in the middle of a neighborhood. Mainly because you have to comply with noise ordinance and typically can’t blast past 3-4pm and no work on the weekends. You lose far more production when your work is restricted vs a silent nozzle. Id recommend it if you find yourself with noise complaints often.

While you talk about the noise reduction, I wish you mentioned the reduced performance of a quieter nozzle. Quantify it.

Silenced nozzles aren't the fastest nozzles in the world, but if you have a noise problem, blasting slightly slower during normal hours, without a lot of noise containment expense... This makes it a phenomenal option for blasting contractors in that situation. Its a specialty nozzle, not something that everyone would use on a daily basis... at the moment anyhow!

@@BlastOne Thank you. It runs BLANK percent slower, and BLANK percent quieter, would have given me enough info to make a purchasing decision upon. But just calling it NEW AND IMPROVED makes me think the improvements, if any, are so small, you're either embarrassed of them, or making them up. Just so you know what goes thru my head.

The human whisper measures 30 decibels. I'm not seeing how a reduction in 16 decibels is significant here. Please help me understand.

The volume of sound increases on an exponential scale as you get higher in decibels. Damage to your hearing gets worse as you move beyond 80 dB. Think of it this way: A lawn mower is around 90 dB and a chainsaw around 110db. Only a 20dB difference, but very noticeable. So a 16 dB reduction is pretty significant.
