I dont understand why she stayed around and endured that humiliation. He was a cruel man. He treated her horribly and the way he treated her at the birthday party. Having her believe the party and jewelry was for her, and he came in with the other woman and declared the party and jewelry was for the other woman. Making her take off the jewelry in front of his friends. But she still hangs around and endures more and more humiliation from him.
