During WW2, the British uses Welsh as a code language due to the highly unlikely possibility that the Germans would be able to translate the message if it was intercepted. It's not an easy language to learn even for native English speakers, they're from completely different linguistic families. English is rooted in Latin and Germanic, whereas Welsh is a purely Celtic language.
@StephMcAlea4 жыл бұрын
@@josh420masterB well, the celtic part is debatable. Its Brythonic. We're more western Atlantic peoples than celts. I found English really difficult as a child. Welsh is far easier once you know the letters. We tend to have only one word each for things.
@hamilax1563 жыл бұрын
@@StephMcAlea This is true, but we still get branded as either P or Q Celtic, as we adopted their culture heavily, regardless of Genetics, as Welsh and Brythonic people were first on Britain, and the Goidelic first on Ireland.

About a month ago I was going through one of my depressed moments. Probably the darkest time in a while. I took a Seroquel and an Ambien just to try to get some sleep. I know I fell asleep with tears in my eyes i had a crazy dream that night. It was an older lady. She had to be at least in her seventies she kept saying something and I could barely pick it up. I've always wrote my dreams down in a notebook since I was 16 I'm 37 now so I have a lot of Dreams written down so I can go over them. She kept saying byddwch chin iawn. Now at the time I didn't know if that was the exact way she was pronouncing it. But I kept going over and over and over it running it through my mind day and night and that was as close as I could to coming up with something to match it with on Google. What it was that she was saying was byddwch chi'n iawn and that translates to.. you will be fine. Now I have no ties to Welsh whatsoever I don't know anybody that speaks Welsh where this came from I don't know. I can't explain it I guess sometimes things are best left unexplained Its crazy but now I am infatuated with Welsh

Gaelic comes from gaul region of France and spread out from there so gaelic & Welsh music is basically Welsh, Scottish, Irish and French.

@@ianrice7326 Where is the "Gaul region of France?" The Celts of Britain and Ireland came in two different phases from two different locations - the Bryton crossing the short distance from France, the Goidel came from the South most likely Spain. Music, like all art, continuously evolves so the traditional music of today would be quite different from the times of the invasions I speak Irish Gaelic but Old Irish is like a foreign language.

I find myself coming back to this collection every so often. And each time without fail, I can pick any song on the list and as soon as I hear that first sound, I get this indescribable feeling. It feels like home, but a home I've never been to and am still trying to find. It feels hopeful like there's still something out there that's going to define what my life is and who I am, even though my life and myself feel empty right now. I've explored a lot of different music genres in my life but this genre in particular I feel so deeply. I don't really know why. And what's weird is, I wouldn't even call this my favorite genre. But somehow it feels like the genre of my soul. Maybe it means I'm out of touch with my soul, or at least a big part of it, I don't know. But I do know I will keep coming back to Gaelic music in the future. I have to.
