The PPF gives the surface an orange peel look, but yes indeed it protects much better from impact. For me the best combination is - PPF for the front end (hood, bumper, back side of the mirrors and headlights) and sensitive black piano trims. Rest of the car ceramic coated.

Problem with ppf is if its a sizeable impact from rock or key youll have to reinstall new peice of ppf. Obv thats never cheap. Imo id only ppf a super expensive paintjob or supercar. Imo no need for any daily driver to have that. A big enough hit and youre respraying it ppf or no ppf.

If we are to do both ceramic coating and ppf say on the front part of the car, do we: 1) put the coating on the paint, then put the ppf, and then put another coating on the ppf? OR 2) put the ppf, and then apply coating on the ppf?

Hello, there is ceramic specific for PPF, but new PPF have hydrophobic properties. Can we apply ceramic PPF directly on new PPF in one step ? Hydrophobic ppf dont reject ceramic ? thx

I asked our local shops here offering PPF and yes, they apply Ceramic Coating on top of PPF to have it hydrophobic properties
