I have been using this since maybe last October and I love it. I don’t wear make up, just sunscreen but it cleanses well for me without stripping - this is the least stripping foaming cleanser I have used, the foam is very light and silky. I use it on my body too, you can get big bottles here in Europe - I actually found this on the body section. However I would say if you have oily skin like me don’t be out off by the fact it says for dry or very dry skin, it didn’t leave any residue, just a good gentle cleanser.

In my experience (dry sensitive acne prone skin) its the most gentle yet still effective cleanser from Cerave, the others either dried me out after a while (cream to foam, foaming cleanser) or didnt remove spf/makeup well (hydrating cleanser)...Cerave hydrating foaming oil cleanser does remove my makeup and spf on its own and doesnt feel stripping, so its the best of both worlds...I still prefer micellar water for the 1st cleanse just to be sure everything is broken down easily, especially eye makeup.. truly, its a gentle foaming cleanser with squalane, NOT oil cleanser as such because its water based and needs to be emulsified with water before using on face, just like other gel cleansers. I think its 9/10 comfortable lather, non stripping but cleansing well without residue..just confusing name choice. It was difficult to find non drying cleanser that still cleanses well, so Im happy that I found this one. Also Geek and Gorgeous Jelly Joker is good one imo, even more gentle, doesnt foam, but it removes makeup just a bit less. Great second cleanser option for sensitive folks as well.

I love this cleanser but hate the marketing on this. They say it’s a replacement for your regular oil based cleanser but it sure ain’t with the base is WATER 💀 It is a great cleanser and honestly have no idea how this marketing idea made sense them in the first place, especially with their cleansing balm and eye makeup remover products launching the year after 👀 As a European (Sweden) this cleanser is available here and it’s def on the top of my list, due to how gentle, hydrating and supple it leaves my skin without drying it. I def have to say that it will dry you out, like Sarah said - if used on dry skin. That’s basically the cleanser sitting on your skin, ”absorbing” into the skin bc there isn’t water around it to cause a reaction to the cleansing agents. A solid 8,2/10 from me and honestly believe that if they rebranded it or didn’t market it the way they did, it would get a much higher score

Hi Sarah the reason it's available in the UK and Europe is because we're very familiar with this style of product. Many brands make them eg Avene, Uriage, Bioderma as well as many others. It's a French pharmacy brand staple product and used by many people with very dry skin as a face wash or shower body wash. I use something very similar from Avene - their xerocalm and it's great on my very dry/atopic skin. I haven't tried the cereve version, but I have tried the others mentioned. It's an alternative to their other foaming cleansers, but for drier skin types. it's not a cleansing oil as such, but it is an oil to lightly foaming cleanser. Best wishes.

It is interesting how different cleansing oils are formulated- the Asian Beauty ones seem to be totally different in style and function from the European ones. The Asian Beauty ones seem to be made to really spread over the skin easily and work so well as a first step cleanser, whereas the European ones are more of a one-step type oil cleanser. It is really nice for my dry skin though- definitely will put this one away until the winter.

Great review! I love CeraVe but I'm not sure about this product, I'll probably try it though LOL. I just really wish there was a truly good one-step cleanser for those nights when we're so exhausted but have waterproof sunscreen on. I always end up doing the two step because it really makes a difference for my acne. Sometimes I even use micellar water on a cotton pad to get the last little bit after the second cleanse. Ugh

Just curious what is the best one-step cleanser you can recommend. I understand no 1-step cleanser can compare to 2-steps as far as effectiveness, but if you had to rank one, would this one be more effective than a standard water-based foam cleanser ?

@@esperensnare I used the Ordinary Squalane cleanser and it removes everything from waterproof sunscreen to waterproof mascara. My favorite is the cleansing oil from Clinique or the Filorga water based foam which is not an oil but it removes everything in one step.

Lol your cheating story reminded me of something my dad told me. He went to a Catholic school and had a religion class where there was a kid on roll call that wasn't actually in class. The kids always made sure someone said 'present' during roll call and the nun teaching never caught on. They took turns doing his tests and homework as well. One day my dad was doing this guys test alongside his own, and the non-existent student scored better than my dad in the test, lol.

Cerave doesn't test on animals except to sell in China. Which I give them a pass for because who are we to tell a whole country how to safeguard the health of their population. They don't test on animals under any other circumstance so that's a plus.

I've added it to my "to-do" list! I have it and have tested it- overall I found it to be slightly above average but I'll review it next week. The only think I really didn't like about it was the inclusion of rosemary oil, but that just depends on how sensitive your skin is.

Have you tried the new Krave beauty jelly to oil makeup remover? I have it and it works very well but can require more rubbing. But on Sephora I saw Eadem released a very similar product but it looks more intriguing! The texture seems thicker and richer, making me think it melts the makeup faster and better. I would love a comparison!

Did u see BOJ has a new ginsing retinol eye cream ? I'm intrigued it's like on sale on style vanns or yesstyle can't remember for like 9.40 but I think it is reg 18$ kinda interested in that and the BOJ cleansing oil but still kind of scared of BOJ but I'm thinking maybe to try again because my skin maybe was not happy at the time. I am also intrigued with the new face gym essence but it's like 50$ and I want to see reveiws on it because I can put that kind of money toward like sk11 Amorapacific greentea or a few isntree products lol western brands I'll tell u ..lol I been spoiled by the Korean stuff also the hygee was onsale for like 9$ for the smaller one on yessyle I think .the large was like 44$ kinda big jump u can buy a few to equal the large one for cheaper.

Hi Sara, I know this video is a year old, but I want to try this product. I’m currently using the soy fresh cleanser and I’ve been using it for several years now. It’s the only face wash that I use. I do want to give other face washes a try but nothing seems to do me justice like the fresh soy cleanser. Therefore I’m looking at this cleanser because it seems very simple, and a lot less in price. Does this product sting your eyes? Most cleansers can be harsh on the eyes and that’s another reason why I’ve been dedicated to fresh for so many years. Thank you for your review ❤.

@C Good question! I'd say I prefer the foaming one because I have combination skin with oily parts. I feel like it's better suited for that skintype. But it can be harsh at times. The hydrating one is also lovely, but not as harsh as the foaming one. More suitable for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin.
