Stay strong and don't ever give up, I was born with a mild case of CP, but as I got into my 40's and 50's my balance and motor skills really started to get worse, I also started having issues with degenerative arthritis in my knees, lower back and my hands. I use a cane for very short distances and a rollator around the house.

I am a wheelchair user. I have mixed emotions about this. One the one hand, I think that it is great that she is really trying to walk. However, on the other hand, I can really see her struggling. Which is what brings tears to my eyes. I just don't understand why society is so bent-up about a person using a wheelchair! I don't see anything wrong with it! Especially, if you are having this much trouble walking!

Struggling isn't the worst thing. There is nothing wrong with using a wheelchair if you have to, but wanting to walk and developing the physical strength is a good thing. For many the emotional benefits are important, too.

I use a wheelchair 99% of the time and I'm very grateful for the mobility it provides. However, learning to walk has been something I've always wanted despite the struggle. There is nothing wrong with using a wheelchair everyone's life journey and goals are different
