CEREMONY'S Ross Farrar Talks 10 Years of ROHNERT PARK

On June 8th, 2010, California hardcore band CEREMONY released their 3rd LP, "ROHNERT PARK." Named after the band's hometown, the album saw a departure from their previous power-violence leanings for a more traditional punk sound. With songs dealing with the police, personal anguish, and the dullness of suburbia, "ROHNERT PARK" is considered by many to be a modern classic in the world of hardcore punk.
I caught up with vocalist Ross Farrar to see how he feels about the record all these years later.

I was in my early 20s and it was perfect for where i was in my life all over went to see em at sound and fury 2011. Ross at a later show in richmond said he wasnt pleased with the show and i know anthony was prob a little uneasy but i had a blast. Prob my favorite band from getting into hardcore because they touch on punk and substance abuse/human condition

Seeing this band in like 2004ish in a shitty bar in Toronto was the best show I ever went to. I think I saw them play at that festival in PA, damn I can't remember the name, Hell Fest or something? That was a good time too. Damn it's been so long. I miss the scene, it really died out in Canada. I probably just fell out of the scene as it went further underground but I never hear about shows anymore. Aside from like Alexisonfire's reunion in my hometown. But that's a big deal for the entire city not just the punk scene lol. Not to mention I got back into Rap music (it was my first love before my punk phase). Now I just listen to the old Hardcore I loved, not really anything new though. I guess Ross sums it up best, I got "Sick of CroMags and Sick of Black Flag". Hahaha.
